Dear Friends, I don't know why Release Maintainer of Koha 3.12.x always forgot to give the exact name of Live DVD manager in release notes!!! http://koha-community.org/koha-3-12-4-released/ I once again request to Release Manager to read once more roles for 3.12 version. http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Roles_for_3.12 I would like to get the reputation as Live DVD Manager. Dear Friends, Today our Koha officially started in production mode. Trial transaction (checkout, checkin, fines etc) details are still in Koha. We wish to clean all transaction details from Koha and start the transactions fresh from today. If old transactions persist in Koha, auditors create problems at the year end. Dear Friends, I am in a sad situation. When I try to click on edit button of Koha wiki page, it ask to download a index.php file. So, I could not add the suggestion in Talk page. Please consider my suggestions and add in talk page. 1. Inclusion of too many materials (e.g. Video tutorials) make the DVD big. Inclusion of manual is OK. It will take too much time for download. 2. Addition of Offline client is a nice suggestion. Need to add any other useful small tools (e.g. glabel) ? 3. Chris mentioned about GUI for backup from Koha staff client. This feature available in Koha 3.12 version? 4. We can create a new framework for customized fields. Upgrade to new version shatter this framework? 5. In my opinion Remastersys is good for creating a clone of the system. Simplicity is the main feature. Users can make ISO of the system as a backup using remastersys. Dear Friends, I tried to connect cronjob with anacron. I added the following lines in anacron file. Open the file gedit /etc/anacrontab And add the following lines in it and save. 1 10 cron.daily koha-foreach /etc/cron.daily This line will execute Koha related crontab daily after 10 minutes when system start. Dear Friends, In my experience Koha installation from Ubuntu packages is very convenient and easy to keep update with forthcoming versions. Everything works fine with latest version of Koha. But one problem still haunting me, change of default time fixed to run fines.pl cron. Many users like to change the fine calculation to another convenient time (e.g. 10 AM). [Koha-devel] How to upgrade to 3.8.7, not going to 3.10?
Hi Friends, I upgraded to Koha 3.10 from 3.8.6. My installation based on Ubuntu packages. It seems that Version 3.10.00 need little bit improvements to make it ready to use. Dear Friends, I just uploaded Koha Live CD for the review by community. https://sourceforge.net/projects/kohalivecd-lite/ Live CD build on Madbox Linux, http://madbox.tuxfamily.org/. <http://madbox.tuxfamily.org/> Madbox is based on Ubuntu 12.04 and OpenBox desktop, very light weight and fast. Total size of Koha Live CD is 690 MB. I think this size is convenient for downloading. I have added a Readme file which mentioned passwords and important information regarding the Live CD. I added an automatic backup script. It will take hourly back up of Koha DB. I also build another Koha Live DVD based on Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop based on gnome-shell desktop. Its size is about 900 MB.
