Same problem under gentoo, but when trying to add a jabber account. Didn't try
yet wiping my settings as I keep history there, but I can move them if
necessary.

kopete: tpp.c:63: __pthread_tpp_change_priority: La declaración `new_prio == -1
|| (new_prio >= __sched_fifo_min_prio && new_prio <= __sched_fifo_max_prio)' no

Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted.

Also tried remerging pth, gnupg or qca / qca-tls with no success. Kopete is
merged with USE="debug arts autoreplace connectionstatus contactnotes crypt

and
CFLAGS="-march=athlon-tbird -O2 -pipe -mmmx -m3dnow -fno-strict-aliasing"

4.1.2,  glibc-2.6.1-r0 and kernel 2.6.22-kamikaze9.

I have no clue on what it might be, but maybe related to
http://sourceware.org/ml/glibc-bugs/2006-11/msg00099.html ? I just found it
googling for the exact error, and seems too much coincidence to burp on the
same assertion... That leads to
http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3610 and is reported as an
invalid bug on glibc; rest of the bug reporting sounds like klingon to me, but
might help.

Thanks for your patch.

Some comments:

You did the same behaviour as in KDE 3.5 , this is fine, but the KDE 4
guidelines insist on the fact we can't use hardcoded color.
One should use color from KColorScheme

> + && ( newState != Message ||  m_tabState != Highlighted ||

I'm not sure this change is correct. Can you explain why you added that.
The whole condition seems a bit complex anyway.

Please request a svn account in order to commit patches if you don't have one
already

Please not top post on this list :-)

Thanks again

i can't speak to the rest of the patch's qualities, but i will note that using
hardcoded colours *anywhere* in an application is a bug, as it impedes
accessibility features and can conflict with other colour schemes.

the solution in kde4 is to use KColorScheme. =)

p.s. welcome to kde development =))

Version:(using KDE KDE 3.5.7)

About 80% of the time, when I try to launch Kopete, it shows the contact list

This seems to be the relevant bit from the console when it crashes:

kopete: tpp.c:63: __pthread_tpp_change_priority: Assertion `new_prio == -1 ||

This one 's been bugging me as well before ;-)
The patch changes the account ID edit widgets from disabled to read-only for
both ICQ and AIM. I only have an ICQ account to test, but think it should be
the same for AIM.

Btw., with kopete on KDE 4 you can also quickly get your UIN by clicking on the
identiy icon in the bottom right corner of the main kopete window and choose
"Copy link location" from the context menu when selecting an icq account.

I haven't gotten much feedback on my suggestion for this, but then I
will assume that silence is acknowledgement. If you, like me, feel that
the colouring of the nickname on the tab of the conversation window
should be:

Bright red, if a message has been received,
Green if the contact is currently writing a message,
and, most importantly:
only be colured dark red (signifying status change) if none of the above
applies,

I should be most grateful.

[kopete-devel] I want to be a Kopete developer

2007-09-30 Thread Alexander Rieder
Hi,

I've been using Kopete for long time now and I think it's the best IM solution
around.
Now, after hearing from mattr's blog that you could use help, I'd like to
offer some of my spare time.
I've been coding c++ with Qt for 3 years now, and I've playing around with
KDElibs for quite some time.
I have a working KDE4 environment with Kopete trunk.

If you have some easy tasks, feel free to send it to me. I'd really like to
give something back to Kopete.

Have a nice day,
