Netters,

I hate to post this to the entire world but...

What would you say the current value of a flying KR2 is right now.

KR2 with Revmaster 2100.
full dash
Hydraulic brakes
trycycle gear
New paint
New Todds canopy.
electric trim tab.

The condition would be compared to the plane of Joe Horton's.

What it's worth and what it would sell for are, unfortunately, two different
numbers. It sounds like it ought to be worth $15K US but it might
only sell for $10K to $12K if the right buyer came along.

Remember, when comparing it to Joe Horton's, that Joe's is a 2S with
a 120 hp Corvair and is one of the finest examples out there. Even
at that he'd be lucky to get $20K US for his.

That is just my opinion and you know what opinions are worth.

KR> Back-up Battery

2009-04-16 Thread mbz...@comcast.net
I'm not sure if this would work in a plane as a back-up. But in RVs and boats
in order to use 2 different batteries
for instance a car battery and a deep cycle battery, A simple cross-over
circuit is used that can be purchased
at any RV or marine store. The cross-over is pretty much just a high current
rectifier bridge that allows current to
travel only in one direction.

"In designing my back-up system I took care to completely isolate both
systems . . . except for the occasions when I might want to connect them
. . . which would be to charge them concurrently, either in the hanger or
in flight."

KR> RE: O2 gauge

2009-04-16 Thread sidney.w...@l-3com.com
The Innovate Motor Sport system of air/fuel gauges all use the Bosch
LSU4.2 5-WIRE wide-band O2 sensor
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/xcart/product.php?productid=16134
=250=1
At $79 for the sensor, this seems pricey for a component you may have to
replace every 100 hours or so if you burn 100LL. Granted, the 5-wire
sensor will give you better calibrated readings, but you will also need
the controller to keep the sensor happy. The total price for the system
is between $229 and $289 depending on your display choice.

Don't forget the bung that you need to weld into your exhaust pipe.
