KR> oil presure regulator

2009-10-06 Thread Lee Van Dyke
A quick and easy way to increase the presure is to pull the sping out and
pull it to strech it out a little bit. Just put it back in and that should
dothe trick.

i have a vw 1835 --and need to boost oil pressure a bit --i notice there is
a oil pressure regulator in the case
how does this work
ie does it blow off at 80-90 psi and allow oil to go to the sump
i was thinking of using 15w -40w oil which would be a bit thinner than
20-50
but do not want to lose oil pressure

KR> oil presure regulator

2009-10-06 Thread Randy Smith
Everyone has there opiniun about oil but VW really likes straight 40w.
Everything I have on VW calls for 40W. I ran a couple of VW's on my KR and Have
2 VW trikes in the garrage that I own. All 40W

KR> Flying KR - Second Try

2009-10-06 Thread Ray Fuenzalida
I see your note that you are looking for a flying project.  Sorry, I have a
"work in progress".  But if you would like to come see that, my project is in
Reserve (between baton Rouge and New Orleans).
You just missed the KR gathering.  That's where all of your questions would
have been answered.  Good luck.

My first email was unclear.
I'm looking for a flying KR within 500 miles of my area in order to get a close
look, and hopefully get a ride in.

I will consider owning a KR after I see a few.

I'm on vacation for the next 14 days, so weather permitting I could fly just
about anywhere to check out a plane.
Please let me know if your interested in showing off your plane, and where your
located.
I'm in Southwest Louisiana.
Thanks,

KR> smooth flying in light drizzle

2009-10-06 Thread Mark Langford
NetHeads,

I got in ten more touch- n-goes on Sunday, despite light rain. The weather
was supposed to be fine until 4PM so I was going to fly somewhere
cross-country, but it was raining when I got to the airport at 10AM.
Ceilings were above 12,000' though, and it was dead calm, and since I was in
the mood to fly, why not? I flew around three local airports and did some
more prop testing. There's a lot to be said for flying in such super calm
conditions. For example I was able to nail my landing speeds with the GPS
at 60 mph with flaps down and 68 with flaps up. That 8 mile spread is
larger than I get during stall tests at altitude, probably due to increased
ground effect with the flaps. My landing speed is so high because my wings
are only 19' long, and my flying weight is normally right at 1000 pounds.
That's one reason I plan to extend my wings this winter (you believe me,
right?).

I did ten of the smoothest landings I've ever done in that super calm air.
And I had the whole sky (and radio frequency to myself). The point of this
is don't give up because it looks dreary outside...the ceilings may be way
more than you need, and it might just be another great day of flying!

I added another picture to the sunsets and clouds site, taken over central
Tennessee. It's at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/sunsets/ .
