KR> Landing gear
Don Rand Robinson used to sell an alum gear with brackets for conventional setup. I'm not sure if she still has any for sale, but you could check. nVaero ( Steve Glover) is also now selling KR components including Diehl main gear systems for either conventional or trigear applications. He may have one since he bought out her parts inventory. I have heard of using those for the tailwheel. Guess that could be used for the mains too. I didn't note who it was but he was proposing to use a GM fibreglass leaf spring for undercarriage. Wonder how it is going. KR> Wing extension
Christo Theron wrote: >>I bought a KR2 Project witch I am extending 14" to the back. It still have the stock 20.8 ft wingspan. What difference did the extension on the wing make?<< First, my wings were a little short to start with. I never added the outer foot of composite spar to the ends of the wood spars, so my wings were each a foot shorter than the plans. The extensions (which get me up to slightly longer than standard KR2S length) improved climb rate, glide rate, more nose-down attitude at high altitude, and even gave me an extra mph or two in speed, but that must be attributed to reduced drag from the "real" Hoerner wing tips. So I can tell you that shorter wings aren't necessarily the hot ticket to high speed performance... Mark Langford ML at N56ML.com website www.n56ml.com
