KR> torque tube control of ailerons
I got drawings etc from Peter Drake in the UK. Robin. Shake city we have now had something like 8500 aftershocks since Sept. 2010 - Original Message - From: "Craig Williams" To: Sent: Sunday, July 24, 2011 4:48 AM Subject: KR> torque tube control of ailerons Good morning fellow KR'rs Spent some time yesterday designing my control systems. Ailerons will be torque tubes with a u-joint connection at the rear WAF. Looked in the archives and found very little on anyone using torque tubes. Any info (links) on KR or any other aircraft applications would be greatly appreciated. Line drawings are here: http://www.kr2seafury.com/4.html Once I start building them I will have a better idea of location and size of the components. Headed to OSH on the 29th. Craig, I don't like the look of the screws on that bell crank assembly and suggest you confirm you want to bet your life on that hardware. << http://www.kr2seafury.com/4.html Once I start building them I will have a better idea of location and size of the components. >>

Any info (links) on KR or any other aircraft applications would be greatly appreciated. - Craig My KR2 is fitted with ALL push rod not torque system. I moved the aileron tubes to behind the main spar to a bell crank then the push rod runs between the WAF to the aileron, this allows for full width flaps on the inner wing only, I almost never need the third stage flap to land. 355 hours now. Some photos on my web page. KR> Airventure Cup Race, OSH
NetHeads, Just an FYI, Jeff Lang has talked me into running the Airventure Cup again this year, probably to give himself some competition in the Sportsman category. The race starts at 10AM Sunday morning from Dayton's Wright Brothers Field, and ends near Fond du Lac. We'll be flying into OSH as a "mass arrival" Sunday afternoon, and my plane should end up parked in the "Racer's Square". Maybe this will get us a little recognition for the KRs and Corvair powered homebuilts, but if nothing else, it's good clean (although expensive) fun. My wife told me with a smile, "don't come home if you don't win", but what else could I expect from her? I hope to see many of you at the KR forum Monday afternoon at the usual time, 1:00 to 2:15 in Pavilion 2 (the GAMA Pavilion) in the Forum area. I'm out of here shortly...
