Hi Larry,

Thanks for that comprehensive overview. It was very helpful.

Cheers,

Yes. I'm told they are available a few hours later, at
http://www.eaavideo.org/channel.aspx?ch=ch_webinars with all the rest. The
format of these is that the first hour is presentation and the last
half-hour is questions and answers, so all you'll miss is the opportunity to
ask questions, but that's what the Gathering and KRnet are for.

These are like the EAA "Hints for Homebuilders" videos, absolutely
invaluable "how-to" demonstrations of how to do the jobs that add up to a
successful aircraft build. They're at
http://www.eaavideo.org/channel.aspx?ch=ch_hints, and they are addictive!

KR> Mixture Meter Presentation

2014-07-03 Thread smwood
The mixture meter presentation will not be at the KR Gathering this year.
However, I will be presenting two sessions of the Mixture Meter Forum at EAA
Airventure on Tuesday July 29 from 10:00 to 11:15 AM and on Friday August 1
from 1:00 to 2:15 PM both at Workshop Classroom 1. Included in the forum
are updates on the technology, sources for the equipment, installation
considerations and real-world practical results.
Don't have to register - just show up.

Hi, is the landing gear retractable? And how much are you asking for it

KR> Trim tab cut out.

2014-07-03 Thread Paul Visk
This might be a silly question but I can't decide. Should I cut the trim tab
out square with the spar? Or square with the trailing edge? and whatever I
decide I know my ray allen trim tabs servo would have to be square to the tab.?

Do you prefer blonds or brunets? Same deal, it will work either
way. I went parallel to the trail edge but parallel to the spar
would allow better alignment with air stream of the linkage.

If things aren't quite square you can bend the pushrod a bit or put a
slight twist in the bellcrank arm but square is always good.

KR> AS5046 wing span on KR2S

2014-07-03 Thread cruzj12 at frontiernet.net
My 29" wing tip templates are 140 " from center line on my KR2S. Can I add
another 8" on each wing with a hoerner style tip? I would have a wing span of
24' -8",... tip to tip. Note, my fuselage is stretched 18" beyond 2s
dimensions. Accepting all criticism, advice. I'm on a roll and building is going
at a good pace .It's a labor of love.?

That's true Larry. Plus my servo will be square to the spar. Then I can
make an easy bracket attaching it to the spar. Thanks guys

KR> OSH flyin, KR Forum, Newsletters

2014-07-03 Thread Mark Langford
For those considering flying into OSH, several of us are likely going to meet
up at Baraboo, WI. (KDLL) Sunday morning the 27th at about 9:00 and fly in
together and park together. Rob Schmitt, Larry Flesner, me, and maybe Mark
Jones are on board so far. Let us know if you plan to join us.

If anybody has any input as to what we should talk about at the KR Forum
(Monday morning July 28th at 8:30 in Pavilion 4), I'm open to suggestions. I'm
hoping my webinar will keep me from having to go over the very basics of KRs,
so we should have a lot more time to dedicate to specifics this year around.
I'll steer "newbies" to the webinar with a handout.

Also, another batch of KR Newsletters (61-114) is located at
http://www.krnet.org/nl/nl2.pdf . The quality of the photos dropped a bit with
the advent of the second editor, but it improves later. These are first
generation originals, so you can't get much better.

KR> KR Gathering 2014 Update!

2014-07-03 Thread Steve G.
Hello Netter's,

Finally we have an update. I recently received data from the old KR
Gathering.org website. The old site is gone and we have no way of recovering
it so we had to create a new one. Fortunately Mark L. was on the ball and
copied the website before it went away. The new address is
www.KRgathering.com

There are still a number of broken links as everything has to be gone
through one at a time to correct where each page is pointing to. It takes a
lot of time to do this which is something I don't have much of these days.
However, the basics are there so you know what is happening with the
Gathering. I can definitely say we probably didn't appreciate Bob Lee
enough for all the work he put in to the Gathering website.

One problem is the registration page. I haven't been able to make the page
send the info to me once someone registers. I am not an .html guy so if
anyone is interested in helping out here it would be appreciated. I do need
people to register so if you would be so kind as to fill out the form and
then just copy and paste it into an email to me so I can keep track of how
many are planning on making it out. I will also need to have a count for
the banquet, shirts, and hats.

I should have something soon on the hats and shirts. This year is going to
be a Legacy Gathering, a homecoming if you will for the KR aircraft. The
design will be similar to the original KR design. There may be a few
surprise guests since this is where it all began. I have heard rumor that
Stu Robinson has heard that the Gathering is here in California and could be
attending. There are a few other Legacy KR builders and contributors to the
KR from way back in the early days who also may be in attendance.

It seems even with the slow start this should be one of the good ones. We
clearly do not have the facilities Mt. Vernon does but I think it will be a
great time anyway!
