KR> experimental or lsa

2011-09-25 Thread Debbie Benson
Hi guys;
I'm looking at a std. kr-2 W/ a 1835 vw, tricycle landing gear, no flaps. no
speed brakes, standard. air foil.  Not quite done. Wings need to be attached,
inside finished, etc. It has not been certified as airworthy, but it was started
as a experimental.  Can that be changed to LSA with some mods if done before
airworthy certification.  I'm new at this so bear with me.

The KR gathering was great.  The shory flight Rob took me on was great. (thanks

KR> KR-2 or KR super2

2011-12-13 Thread Debbie Benson
I'm getting ready to build a KR-2 ,but undecided on which way to build.  The
standard way with spruce longerons and braces or the all composite
construction.  I have not seen anyone with an all composite airplane post any
info on flight times or such.  I will appreciate comments on the pros & cons of
each type of construction.

Thanks Bob

buy a set of plans.  Does any one know how to get a response from theese guys,

Well Scott,

You SAY you have attempted to contact us yet I have ZERO voice messages or
e-mails from you!   Please, do buy your plans elsewhere.  And Barrett, I
really don't care if you buy through us either.  If you have a problem then
let me know about it offline.  I usually have one day a week I can really
sit down and spend time with paperwork or emails.  The hangar is 40 miles
one way and I try to get there a couple times a week. Rand Robinson is 35
miles the complete opposite direction from me.  Now throw into the mix I am
up at 5am each day and out of the house by 6 or 6:30, then return home
between 8 - 9pm if I'm lucky.  So please don't whine about not being able to
contact nV Aero OR say I don't care about this company.  You do not know me
and have NO idea.

As most on this list know, I do have a REAL job in addition to nV Aero as it
does not create income other than enough to pay for expenses.  I do it to
maintain the KR design, parts, and supplies while at the same time working
on better products for those who are actually building and my love for the
KR aircraft.  It affords the average Joe to build their own plane on a
budget.

My apologies to Mark and the list but this is the part of the business I
really hate.

. I've tried contacting NVaero as I had some questions in regards to the
plans before I ordered and have not heard
back (several occasions over the last few weeks). At this point I am
uncomfortable ordering from NVaero since I have not heard anything from
them.

I don't think this sent last night...so I'll try again.
I?m new here so forgive me if this is something I could have found on my
own...believe me, I have tried.  I just recently purchased a partially
complete ?stretch? KR2S fuselage that is different to say the least.  It
looks like it was built on a mold of several 1 inch ply-balsa-ply strips.
There is reference to aero-core in the notes but I can?t seem to find any
current reference to the product on the internet.  It appears to be
incredibly strong as well as sleek.   Does anyone know of a KR fuselage that
is built this way?  I find it hard to believe this was a ?one-off? since it
appears to have been built on a mold.

It would be easier to explain how it differs from the plans if someone else
has a fuselage that is made the same way.  Speaking of the FAA...when should
I contact them in the building process?
