KR> Trim Rings

2011-01-20 Thread Johnny Cradduck
I might be able to help you.  I am a mechanical/aerospace/electronics
engineer/A&P/radome repairman/motorcycle-auto-aircraft
enthusiast/designer/manufacturer/jack-of-all-trades.LOL  Also design/build/sell
motorcycle accessories at  www.the-biker-toy-store.com.

Work has been almost non-existent for a few years and I am looking for any
opportunities to work.    I could provide the rings you need in AL or ABS or
molded plastic.

If you are interested contact me at j.cradd...@sbcglobal.net if you prefer.  I
do not want to turn this site into a commercial for me.

Circumstances force me to give up building a KR.

Thanks

Johnny

When all you get are blank stares when you ask about a bolt, you go to
the KR list, and here I am!!!

I built a new panel for my KR2 using aluminum, covered by carbon fiber
for the face.  It is VERY pretty, however because the CF is on top of
the instruments, one can see the rough edges of the holes cut into the CF.

I have been searching for months to find a company (or someone) that can
cut some simple trim rings out of plastic, aluminum, etc.  I'm coming up
dry.

In a nutshell, the rings would be 2.25 or 3.125 ID, and about 1/8" wide,
and maybe a max. of 1/16" thick.  Just precision cut rings out of some
cheap, black plastic would be excellent!

Someone, somewhere knows of someone, somewhere, that can make nice cuts
in plastic that will give the panel the final touches.  Just simple
rings that can be glued to the CF and cover the rough edges in it is all
that I'm trying to do.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks!

Also, if anybody needs to see the pictures of where we are right now,
please advise and I'll send them to you.

KR> paint or glass

2010-03-07 Thread Johnny Cradduck
The figerglass provides more strength and stiffness (less flexing) than the
wood.  I would not consider omitting it.  Major reduction in strength and
stiffness.

Hi Mike

I personally think covering all wood surface should be covered with with deck
cloth , this will keep small cracks from showing up later on.

KR> KR-2 PLANS

2010-02-20 Thread Johnny Cradduck
I offered a set of plans for sale and got several replies, then selected the
first response.  The deal was not completed so here I am again.  I am a bit
long in the tooth for building or flying a KR.  These plans are about 20 years
old and are in fair condition, but not perfect.  One drawing has one damaged
area with information for a bellcrank.

The plans are unused in that no airplane was completed.  A KR was started. but
not completed and has since been destroyed.  Priority mail is $10+ and I will
want something for my time to box them and go stand in line at the PO.  Anyone
interested please make an offer.  I am cleaning up and next week they will be
in the mail or in the trash.  Please make offer only if you intend to follow
through.  Thanks

KR> KR-2 PLANS

2010-02-02 Thread Johnny Cradduck
I received several replies from people wanting the plans I offered.  The only
fair way I could think of was to let them go to the first one (for a price, of
course).  I am keeping the other emails and if there should be a glitch of some
kind I would go down the list.  Thanks.

I have a variety of parts that are not accessible right now.  When I have time
to see what I have, I will be back.

KR> KR-2 Plans

2010-02-01 Thread Johnny Cradduck
Several years ago I bought a partial KR-2 kit and never found the time to
build.  I still have the unused plans for KR-2, not KR-2S.  I am too old for
that kind of airplane now.  Need to get the plans to someone who can use them.
I would sell the plans for $60 including Priority Mail.  Anybody interested?

KR> KR2S Plans

2009-07-17 Thread Johnny Cradduck
I tried to make a postive reply to your question and my email was not
delivered.  Could there be an error in the email listed?

KR> KR NEWSLETTERS

2009-01-17 Thread Johnny Cradduck
At one time I had planned to build a KR.  Several things got in the way and it
never happened.  I have faced the fact that I don't have the time and energy to
do it so I am cleaning house.  I have several years of KR Newsletters that I
need to dispose of.  I would give them to a serious builder.

I prefer to not pack and ship.  I live in central OK and travel to Dallas, TX
often.  If you are interested and live in either of these areas or near I-35 in
between, let me know.

KR> epoxy / resin

2008-12-18 Thread Johnny Cradduck
Be careful with the resin that has begun to harden.  If it is just that it is
cold and needs to come back to room temp, then no problem.  If it has actually
begun to harden and requires elevated temp to flow, then the cross linking
within the resin has begun.  It can be heated and used.  I have done so on
non-critical applications; however, the final bond strength will be reduced.
On aircraft structure, that could spoil your whole day.  Be careful.

Hi Eduardo,
Put it in the microwave for 15 seconds. Longer if needed. You should be good
to go. You could also use hot water but that will take longer.

KR> CANOPY

2008-10-12 Thread Johnny Cradduck
For several years I gathered parts and did some work toward building a KR.
Various situations have prevented me from accomplishing that goal. It is time
for me to face the reality that I am not going to build the KR. I am cleaning
up and will have a few items for sale. Hope to get things out of my way and
equally important let someone get some use from them. Most is in storage and
not eaisily accessible. Right now I have a new KR-2 canopy available. It is
several years old, but still has the plastic wrap and is undamaged. I would
like $200 for it. I will not pack and ship. Can be picked up in Norman, OK.
For small fee I can deliver near Oklahoma City, OK, Dallas, TX, or in between.
If you call me, please leave a message. I am not at the phone most of the time.
