KR> tow vehicle
John My son used to have a Suburban so I sent your problem to him and here is his reply. Jack Cooper I'd tell him to check the EGR valve. If it is fine when the engine is cool, and then once the engine heats up, it won't idle, or idles rough, and then dies at an idle, but with foot on gas pedal, it will go, then the EGR valve should be suspect. It would also explain why the truck did fine on the test drive. 1989 shouldn't be an electronic EGR valve, should be off of vaccuum still. So, I'd check the EGR valve sticking open, or a vaccuum leak somewhere. The EGR valve stuck open will act like a big vaccuum leak, and that is what it sounds like to me. - "John Gotschall" wrote: > Not only KR related, but here goes: > > I tested the coolant temp probes, no faults there. I have just posted an update, not so much about the house but more about the barn. We plan to use some materials from the barn in the house so we are taking the barn down. We put it off as long as we could but felt we couldn't wait any longer. http://www.jackandsandycooper.com/barn.html -- Jack Cooper Mosheim TN

Andy My KR is not finished yet and is not even readily available to me because of my move and building a house but I live and am building in Hensley Airpark near Greeneville TN about 60 miles NE of Knoxville. There is also a KR builder in Morristown but I can't call his name right now. You can see my KR at http://www.jackandsandycooper.com/kr2.html . - Mark Langford wrote: Tomorrow my buddies at work will say "betcha didn't get much flying in THIS weekend!", but they'll be wrong. Mark Let your buddies at work know that a bad day of flying is better than a good day at work. I also have to go outside to see what is taking off, landing or flying over. Good thing its a private airpark with few takeoff and landings or I never would get any work done. KR> KR video
Since moving to Tennessee about 18 months ago I have hardley seen my KR and have accomplished no work on it. Tonight I poped a KR gathering video in the DVD player and got my battery recharged. It was sure nice to see KRs zooming acros the screen and to see all the familiar KR faces. I'm tird of working on the house and need to get back to work on the KR. The drywall hangers are in the house now and it makes the house look like there is an end in sight though I know its still months away. -- Jack Cooper Mosheim TN

KR> Dremel
This is my favorite dremel like tool also from harbor freight or as I sometimes refer to them horable freight. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=47869 Its air drive, light weight smaller diameter and easier to adjust speed. I recently bought a hammer drill from them and had to return it within a week because of a broken shaft. I exchanged it and also broke that shaft within a very short time. I have bought a lot of tools there knowing that they are not the highest quality tools but most are acceptable quality for a hobbiest, but not for a professional. KR> New house and hangar update
Its getting very exciting to see things come together with the house and hangar. One of my neighbors said my hangar was too nice to be a hangar. Can't wait to move a KR into it but right now it would just be in the way. Also I want to keep the workers busy building a house, not drooling over an airplane. Mark and Dan have expressed a desire to fly in to take a look so I think some Saturday this month would be a good time. If some others want to fly in or drive in let me know and we will try to arrange it. Jack Cooper -- Jack Cooper Mosheim TN

I have volunteered to set up the KR dinner at Sun-N-Fun. Here is what I have arranged so far, nothing is in concrete yet so changes can be made if necessary. I'm sure many of you will be going to Dave Strouds BBQ on Friday so I set it up for Thursday evening at 6:30 PM at Hooters on Florida Ave. This will be very informal gettogether just like last year. Everyone will pay for their own meal and drinks and tthere is no cover charge for the room. It was my pleasue to welcome Mark Langford and Joe Horton at my new home and hangar today. We had a few hours together and toured the home and hangar, enjoyed the sunshine of a beautiful spring Tennessee day, the view of the mountains, and had a good meal. Some residents and construction workers were awed by the flybys. Mark and Joe, come back anytime and bring more friends with you. We will have a KR and Corvair flyin once I'm setteled into the house.
