It seems that the KR Gathering web site stopped processing pre-registrations
on July 7, 2011. I just discovered the problem as a result of Larry's
attached e-mail:
<<
Bob,

How far behind are you on updating the Gathering registration
page? I've gotten several e-mails saying they registered up to 10
days ago and some have registered several times and it isn't posted
yet. Please give an update to the net if you can rather than me
trying to answer their concerns without knowing the answer.

Thanks

I will send an update when the problem is diagnosed and corrected.

KR> KR Gathering Pre-Registration.

2011-08-15 Thread flyboybob
Anyone that pre-registered for this year's KR Gathering in July or August
must resubmit their registration. A problem with the web site did not save
your information.

Sorry for the problem.

Larry H asked:

<< Has anyone posted any photos anywhere? >>

The photos I took are on the KRGathering.org site in the 2011 gallery.

You can click on any thumbnail photo to see the full sized image.

KR> What am I doing wrong?

2011-09-20 Thread flyboybob
Netters,

Today I came across a quote from Charles F. Kettering, an American inventor
and businessman, "If you're doing something the same way you have been doing
it for ten years, the chances are you are doing it wrong" This is a shout
out to all of us that have been in the KR movement for ten years or more and
have not completed our projects. If you fit that criteria, the problem with
completing your project is not technical, It's you!

I asked Joe Horton, Mark Langford, and Dan Heath how much they worked on
their KR's the last two years before they got them flying. The results from
each interview were quite simalar. You need to be working on your project
twelve (12) hours a week for two years to get it in the air. Stop asking
yourself about your problems with your project and simply ask: "am I
working 12 hours a week on my KR?" As soon as you can say yes to that
question, you are no more than two years away from flying your project.
Building a KR is not rocket science, you just need to finish all the work.

Best wishes to each of you that are willing to spend the time with the
project. You just might fly to the KR Gathering in 2012 for the 40th
aniversary of KR Flight. We know you hate sanding but when it's over it's
over so the sooner you start the sooner you finish!
