KR> KRElevator weights advise
4.5 lbs is a lot of weight to add to foam horns. Even with CF on the ends. Joe, what did you do to beef up the horn areas? Connection between the elevator bell crank and the balance counter weight bell crank is by a push rod and rod ends. All linkage and counter weight are in the fuselage. This push rod is also part of the elevator linkage to the stick. Elevator and aileron linkage is all pushrods. KR> Sanding Blocks
That's a good idea and its cheaper than the floor sander paper. KR> trim tab size
I just ordered a Ray Alan trim tab servo from Wick's and they have all kinds stick grips that will work with the servos. KR> Rudder pedals
Hi Phill, I made mine out of .049. I'll be home tonight after 10:30 and be up late. I should be home all day tomorrow and night if you like to come over and compare the two thicknesses. The 5/8 x .035" tubing seems a bit "springy" to me. Did everyone else use this tubing for their rudder pedals or did you go up to .049"? KR> Drag???? Whoa!
I totally agree Larry. I have the utmost respect for Mark and all the other builders that have a hell of a lot more experience than I do. Mark I think I can speak for everyone. You keep doing what you're doing a great job. Keep it up . The KR net is usually a very civil exchange of ideas so I have no idea of where this crap came from. Someone asks a question about flaps or belly boards on a KR and a half dozen builders / fliers with a combined flight time of 3000+ hours respond with their opinion. Where is the drama, the ego, the over reactions, the perfectionism? Your personal attack on Mark Langford is totally out of line and I'm calling you out on it. I strongly suspect that those that take offense at the opinions given by those with experience have never taken flight in a KR. If you ask a question on the net and a consensus of experienced builders / fliers disagree with you, don't take it personal but put the information in your pocket for later use. If you're not willing to accept the advise of those with actual experience then you're wasting band width. Have a nice day... KR> Good news
The problem is. I fly fast. I fly with big engines. I fly at night and I fly IFR. So that leaves LSA's sitting on the side with the RC's for me. I worked very hard for my license and my ratings to let some wanna be doctor in Oklahoma City tell me I can't fly. So I went though hell and back with every test and procedure they wanted me to do so they couldn't say no. Paul Visk Belleville Il. 618-406-4705 PS: Sorry about the rant. It just hit me the wrong way. Let's go fly! KR> Elevator weights advise
I can't decide where to put my elevator counter weights. I'm adding three inche foam horns to the elevator and covering the hole thing with carbon fiber. With the horns just foam will they be strong enough to support the weight or should I just add the weight off the push rod like Mark did. How much weight are we talking about? I'm using the new tail.
