"It currently has no artificial horizon installed, which I would like to

have before I do any night flying, as well as no turn & slip. The
previous
owner was considering adding an Enigma EFIS to the panel, . . ."

I put a TrueTrak ADI with GPS track readout in my small panel and I'm
real happy with it. Gulf Coast Avionics had the best price.

If I had the room however, and the money, the Enigma EFIS you are asking
about looks like the cat's meow. Chalkie Stobbert used it on his recent
successful Cape Town/London/CapeTown Henshaw Challenge GP-4 flight.
Plus, I think those two fellows who just flew their "Sling" around the
world had two of them installed. Quality of South African made products
is generally excellent.

I agree that you need some kind of attitude reference in the plane.
Before I put the TruTrak in I had an unreliable electric turn coordinator
and felt very limited in capability. The ADI is simple and reliable and
relatively inexpensive. It includes an inclinometer too.
