Depending on how low the low spots are, The best thing to use is a stick slurry of micro and resin. Don't go to thick just fill the low spots. Then use the stuff Mark Jones talked about icing to feather out any small areas Lee Van Dyke > On Aug 14, 2015, at 1:46 PM, peter via KRnet wrote: > > Never use bondo. You should have three ?board all different lengths and you should also have one that bends. Like on a thin piece of plywould or plexiglass for the double contour curves. the article suggests laying on a coat of black primer before filling, to help visualize the topography during sanding. west system's benefit is strong bonding to old work. but with primer in between, the only bond you have think is the primer. at that point, may as well just use body filler, no? > Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2015 17:21:16 -0500 > To: krnet at list.krnet.org > Subject: Re: KR> Filling low spots in cured fiberglass without spending $200 > on a can of EA960F > From: krnet at list.krnet.org > CC: ppaulvsk at aol.com > > > > > > > Follow this link to the article. Like Jeff mentioned, using your epoxy sytem and microspheres will give you the lightest and cheapes filler available. Do not fill the low spots untill you are ready to fill the whole elevator. Do it in one operation if possible. Then you can sing the sanding song while sanding.
