Guys,
I wanted to ask this for awhile now. Why is it called a hanger
and not an airplane garage  Someone asked me and I couldn't answer.

Here you go Joe.  Don't ask my why they kept their airplane in a
"cattle pen".  Must be a "French thing".  :-) Found it with Google.

The word hangar comes from a northern French dialect, and literally 
means "cattle pen."

your car in a GARage, your airplane in a hanGAR.
