Hi guys
I am busy doing a revamp of an instrument panel here and desperately need the
pinout diagram for an ICOM IC-A 200 panel mount tranceiver to mate it up with a
softcomm intercom system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have looked
on their websight and the download does not have what I need. Thanks

Helping install a A200 in a friends KR2. The radio install sheet shows that
the radio has an intercom function but the diagram only shows on set of
headseat plugs. Am I missing something? Also if anyone has this unit
installed I would appreciate it if they could answer some novice questions on
the wiring.

It sort of has an intercom. You can add a switch to have intercom when it is
pressed, and normal transmission when it is not. It is really a useless
feature they way they did it, unlike the regular two headset VOX intercom built
into the Microair radio.

KR> Icom IC-A200 help

2008-10-12 Thread Barry Kruyssen
Hey Brian,

The Microair has an intercom but it is not VOX, it is on all the time.
Following is an extract from the user manual.

The M760 utilises the sidetone facility, to produce a "hot mic" intercom.
This means the mic's are "live" at all times, to the pre-set levels of the
sidetone and the mic gain. Both pilot and co-pilot can speak and be heard at
all times. Hot mic operation is not a VOX system where the mic's only come
on when a pre-set noise threshold is reached (ie when you speak the mic
comes on).

Try looking at the Xcom 760. Here is a comparisons WEB link
http://www.mcp.com.au/xcom760/comparison/comparison.html . Though it is on
the Xcom WEB page. :-)
