KR> Sport Aviation Association Fly-In dates set

2008-10-12 Thread Ed Janssen
Netters,

For those of you who don't know - The 2006 Sport Aviation Association (SAA)
Fly-In dates have been set for June 23, 24 and 25. The SAA is a sort of
grass roots spin-off of EAA, started several years ago by EAA's patriarch,
Paul Poberezny. The event will again be held at Frasca Field, Urbana,IL.
Mark Langford attended a couple years ago and reportedly had a good time.
William Wynne has also put on a Corvair forum for the past several years -
always interesting and very popular. Not sure whether he's committed
himself to be there as yet.

Wouldn't it be neat to see some KRs represented there, weather permitting?
How about it Langford, Jones, Weber, and any others relatively close by?

2008-10-12 Thread Oscar Zuniga
Note that the SAA Fly-In at Urbana is not a public event. It is intended
for SAA members only. And now that the organization is sort of in limbo,
they aren't accepting membership applications nor publishing the magazine
anymore. It is a virtual organization that exists in 501C3-land and as an
email group, possibly with a website and/or electronic newsletter to come,
but technically you can't join anymore. I'm fairly certain they won't check
ID badges if you land and taxi up to the line though ;o)

So Oscar..you are saying the virtual judges, may just also be
the virtual air traffic control, the virtual ground crew and the virtual
hamburger flippers.all in one virtual person

So, I guess you watch when you land, when you park and pack a bag
lunch.well virtually that is:-)
