[Bug 34892] Username and password world readable in cleartext from quanta configfile

2006-03-14 Thread karl
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34892

Comment:
if you create a project in quanta with a ftp host/username/password this
info is readable in cleartext in the quantarc file

this file should be readable by the user only, its not a threath to the
system its running on but it exposes all remote servers that Quanta is
used to connect to

[Bug 34892] Username and password world readable in cleartext from quanta configfile

2006-03-14 Thread Jonathan Riddell
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34892

Comment:
~/.kde and all the files in it is only readable by the user. If that's
not the case then there's a much larger problem at fault.

In my brief testing Quanta doesn't seem to store them as plaintext but
with some presumably easily reversable encryption. It should really use
kwallet for storing passwords, but that's a feature request best sent
upstream.

[Bug 23007] k3bsetup show an emty dialog

2006-03-14 Thread havarddahle
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/23007

Comment:
As I am seeing the exact same thing (blank dialog) with other kcmshell
modules, I gather it has nothing to do with k3b, but something is wrong
with kcmshell.

I ran a loop through all kcmshell modules and took a screenshot of them
to see how many are affected.

On my system, three modules came up blank: k3bsetup2, backgound and
keyboard. Try it yourself with `kcmshell background`.

There are no indications on stdout of any problems. Something is
terribly amiss.

I'm using Kubuntu Breezy.

Here's the screenshot loop, in case someone finds those kinds of things
interesting:

kcmshell --list | grep -v The following modules | (while read
MODULE STUFF; do echo $MODULE; { kcmshell $MODULE }; sleep 3; import
-window 0x227 $MODULE.png; killall kcmshell; done; )

[Bug 34383] wrong list of screen resolutions

2006-03-14 Thread Albert Cardona
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34383

Comment:
One more comment: the kcontrol display screen resolution was never set
into my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. The file was intact. So the screen
resolution is saved elsewhere. How I solved it is by removing my ~/.kde
folder and importing from it only what I needed. A grep for
resolution, or 1280x800, or 1280, or 800, in the ~/.kde/share/ folder
didn't result in anything meaningful.
