Since Hoary till Breezy that I'm still using I've tried with every single kernel up to the last one. I have Dapper installed on another partition for some time but I couldn't find in the repositories the smp version of the kernel. My system is up to date and every time a new kernel pops up I try the new smp version to see if it works but it still doesn't. The machine still freezes in X (the gray screen before KDE's login screen appears). I don't remember if I mentioned I have a Pentium with hyperthreading. Anyhow, it boots fine in smp mode both with Mandriva and a Knopix live CD so I figure the problem is not the machine... If you need me to try again and if there is a log file I can send you back to help track the problem I'll do it willingly. This was with Flight 5. I've just tried again with Flight 6, fully updated as of yesterday, and the problem as I described doesn't occur. The problem has changed, though. [Bug 23458] Re: latin layouts not available on kde keyboard tool
I don't see this bug with KDE in Dapper. [Bug 35995] Re: kio_tar and kio_zip not used automatically
Sorry to spam this report with already stated information, but I'm also begging Dapper's Konqueror to use tar:/ etc. kioslaves by default. That is why I love Konqueror: there's no need for multiple applications to do simple things with archived files. Konqueror's kio_tar and kio_zip work much better than "Ark". -- kio_tar and kio_zip not used automatically https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35995 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

This works fine for me in a recent version of Dapper. ** Changed in: kde-systemsettings (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed => Needs Info -- KDE keyboard variants not working https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/22180 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 21809] Re: Dvorak keyboard layout missing
In the KDE currently in Dapper, if you go in Settings --> Regional --> Keyboard Layout, then select your country layout, then you will be able to select a specific variant (default, basic, intl, and dvorak). If you do that, then you will have dvorak keyboard layout for that user. ** Changed in: kde-systemsettings (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed => Fix Released -- Dvorak keyboard layout missing https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/21809 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 38719] Re: planet ubuntu feed is incorrect
The correct URL is http://planet.ubuntu.com/rss20.xml But my version Akgregator (in Dapper) doesn't come with a planet.ubuntu.com feed at all.
