[Bug 38064] Re: bluetooth:/ is a Malformed URL

[Bug 32159] Re: system:// protocol
Yuriy: The .desktop files for GTK and other non-KDE apps have to be patched to work with the system:/ kio. I've noticed that the most recent OpenOffice packages have been patched for this, it's just a matter of getting the other major non-KDE packages to patch it as well. I applaud the Kubuntu team for it's work in getting most of the kinks of the system:/ kio-slave fixed. [Bug 41031] Re: [Bug 41031] Re: Volume in gnome screwed up
I did as you asked. Removed gtk2-engines-gtk-qt remove only under synaptic. Solved my problem with volume and also my problem with open office in gnome. Bug {40703}. Oddly enough it said it will remove Kubuntu desktop. However kde still works and openoffice under kde still works fine. Thanks a lot for your workaround. Wish Kubuntu was set-up like this by default, it would save me a headache as I run mostly gnome but occasionally kde. I would not have been able to figure this out on my own, I am not an IT person but work in Oil Production. Hurray ti worked. Rocco's comment in just wrong. I did check the code for that and the xcustom check he is talking about it's used only manually. [Bug 41962] No Audio CD in drive error trying to play cd with kaffeine
Public bug reported: Affects: kaffeine (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: When inserting an audio CD and choosing to play it with kaffeine, kaffeine shows this error: No Audio CD in drive, or wrong path to device. Please select correct drive: The drop down menu is empty. If I type in /dev/hdc, the CD plays fine. If I eject the cd, then repeat, the same error returns. If I type in /dev/hdc, press ok, exit kaffeine, and try playing it again (i.e. by right clickin on the cd in media:/) it plays fine. If I click cancel on the error the CD doesn't play and the error comes up again if i try again. This error also comes up if the cd is in /dev/hdd. Clicking on Audio CD in the Go! tab in kaffeine works fine if the cd is in /dev/hdc but the error comes up if it is in /dev/hdd. In kaffeinesettingsxine engine parametersmedia the first thing there is the audio cd location: /dev/hdc That explains why clicking on the cd within kaffeine doesn't work if it is in /dev/hdd.
