[Bug 95950] KNetworkManager doesn't work with static IP configuration

2007-03-25 Thread hk-47
Public bug reported:

While NetworkManager in Ubuntu Feisty Beta 1 works fine for me with
static IP configuration, unfortunately KNetworkManager in Kubuntu Feisty
Beta 1 does not.

Whenever I try to convince KNetworkManager that I want e.g. 192.168.0.10
as my static address, KNetworkManager pretends to apply my changes, but
the IP remains at the auto-assigned private 169...-type. Directly
changing network setting via kcontrol also doesn't do anything.

I have to shut down KNetworkManager, manually edit
/etc/network/interfaces and use ifupdown-tools to configure my network,
which works as supposed.

[Bug 87941] Re: network-manager does not take into account static configurations *properly*

2007-03-25 Thread Nicolas M
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 82335 ***

You're right, more precisely, here is the behavior I've noticed for the
network settings (I use ifconfig to check the network setting changes):

- If I run the Network settings dialog by left clicking the NM Icon:
. When changing from dhcp -> static: the static settings are not taken into
account the first time I change them, but they are taken the second time only.
However, after the first change (which does not get applied as seen in
ifconfig), right click on the NM icon and select Network Information shows the
modified static setting.
. When changing from static -> dhcp: the change takes effect on the first
change.

- If I run the Network settings dialog by the menu:
System/Administration/Network, the changes take effect on the first
change, in both cases, dhcp -> static and static -> dhcp.

[Bug 44165] Re: cannot examine update details after end of updates

2007-03-25 Thread eric auvert
The bug's title is still valid.

Regarding Adept, "show last download" and "show last dpkg run" are still
disabled in Edgy and current Feisty Beta (at the moment, 2.1.2ubuntu21),
whereas they work correctly in Dapper.

- It's an another bug from the one described in the first post, and I can
fill an another bug report.

or

- It 's a regression since Dapper, and "wishlist" is not an appropriate
importance.

What do you think of it ?
