[Bug 222090] [NEW] amarok doesn't perform format conversion for media devices

2008-04-25 Thread Robert Persson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amarok

This affects amarok 1.4.9.1

In the "configure audio device" preferences for each external audio
player is the option "other formats will be converted to" with a pull-
down list of formats (ogg, mp3 etc). However when I try to transfer any
formats that aren't in my list of supported formats, amarok simply
refuses, making no attempt to convert the files.

What ought to happen is either that automatic format conversion should
be made to work or that the option to convert should be removed until
this feature is implemented.

I should add that I do at least have lame installed, yet the option to
convert to mp3 still doesn't work. Conversion to ogg doesn't work for
me, but I'm not sure if I have the right encoder for oggs installed or
not.

** Affects: amarok (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 211717] Re: knetworkmanager - manual configuration doesn't load (kde4)

2008-04-25 Thread zephirum
I have similar problem as well. The IP stays at 0.0.0.0 and the manual
configuration button doesn't work
I'm not so sure about the bug being fixed. I downloaded Kubuntu KDE4 last
night, so it doesn't seem to make much sense
I suspect the bug is still present. I'm gonna use Ubuntu in the mean time :/

[Bug 221529] Re: Hardy requires two log-ins

2008-04-25 Thread mcas
Thank you for reporting this bug. Can you please look if there are some
errors in the Xorg.log. If there are errors please add the file. Do you
still have the problem or only with the initial boot?

[Bug 158978] [NEW] kmail deleted contents of inbox with dimap

2008-04-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I use kmail on my laptop with disconnected IMAP, and just had it delete
the contents of my inbox.

I was having connection issues with my IMAP server, and pressed F5 to
check for new mail. It popped up and said something about not being in
sync (it made a reference to sync status 7), and did I want to resync or
not. This wasn't a very clear message, but I presumed it was safe and
told it to go ahead. It churned for a few minutes, and when it was done
the only message there was one that had arrived while it was doing this.
Checking the mail server showed that the maildir files were gone.

This seems Really Bad. Fortunately, there's nothing vital there
(although I'd rather not have lost 1,500 messages).

I have many folders under the inbox, and they appear to be fine.

Same problem here.

[Bug 222265] [NEW] Kaffeine cannot install libdvdcss-i386 codec

2008-04-25 Thread Andy Goossens
Public bug reported:

I recently upgrade Gutsy to Hardy. I wanted to play a video in Kaffeine.
It advised me to install the libdvdcss-i386 codec, which I accepted.

Then opens a Konqueror window with URL
"http://kubuntu.org/packages/libdvdcss-i386.deb"; and an error message
"Object not found!". It looks like Kaffeine wanted to install the DEB
package, but could not find it on the kubuntu.org website.

[Bug 41955] Re: Normal user cannot share folders from home, even if authorised

2008-04-25 Thread Greg
This error has returned in the latest release of Ubuntu - Hardy Heron.
I am trying to share folders on my ubuntu box and I get the exact same error as
Townk
I am logging into the box remotely using Ubuntu's built-in remote desktop
server from a windows box, this might be the reason the error is poping up
