[Bug 259278] Re: knetworkmanager will no longer connect

2008-11-23 Thread naught101
grahamt: the knetworkmanager in the intrepid repos is a dummy package -
it doesn't do anything by itself, it just depends on netowrk-manager-kde
(which is knetworkmanager renamed). If you installed from a CD,
knetworkmanager shouldn't be installed, and installing it won't change
anything (unless network-manager-kde also wasn't installed). If you
upgraded, the Hardy knetworkmanager is replaced with the dummy package,
which requests that network-manager-kde is installed.

In otherwords, if you already had the knetworkmanager program running,
then installing the knetworkmanager doesn't make a difference.

The only reason that might have fixed your problem, that I can think of,
is that network-manager-kde was somehow reconfigured at the same time,
however, I tried "sudo dpkg-reconfigure network-manager-kde" and it
didn't fix anything for me.

[Bug 285265] Re: KPatience dies with ASSERT: "!pixmap().isNull()"

2008-11-23 Thread Roland Hieber
Here is the debug output with everything checked in kdebugdialog.

After that, I only get a windows of KCrash saying that "The application
KPatience (kpat) crashed and caused the signal 6 (SIGABRT)." I guess
that KCrash generates the same backtrace as already provided in a
previous comment, so I'm not posting it here.

[Bug 301284] [NEW] Desktop switching commands Ctl-Fn do not work in KDE 4

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

The new KDE 4 in the new intrepid distribution ships with 4 desktops as
a default. I personally use 10. After increasing the number of desktops

properly. For n=5,6,7 nothing happens, and for n=8,9,10 something else
happens

[Bug 298940] [NEW] multiple kde4 vnc sessions for same user does not work

2008-11-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

This has worked with kde3 but not kde4
I want to use multiple vnc sessions
vncserver :1
vncserver :2
vncserver :3 etc...
+ my main kde4 X session that is not tied to any vnc

in xstartup, I have
startkde &
In Intrepid release twith kde4 his is not working
This used to work in Gutsy with kde3

When I try to manually start... I get the following.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] startkde
startkde: Starting up...
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/klauncher
klauncher(10596) kdemain: Waiting for already running klauncher to exit.
klauncher(10596) kdemain: Waiting for already running klauncher to exit.
klauncher(10596) kdemain: Another instance of klauncher is already running!
kdeinit4: Communication error with launcher. Exiting!
kdeinit4_wrapper: Warning: connect(/home/userid/.kde/socket-kubu/kdeinit4__2)
failed: : Connection refused
Could not register with D-BUS. Aborting.
startkde: Shutting down...
kdeinit4_wrapper: Warning: connect(/home/userid/.kde/socket-kubu/kdeinit4__2)
failed: : Connection refused

I expect multiple instances of kde4 to co-exist for the same user in different
vnc's. But kde4 refuses to co-operate.
