[Bug 313210] [NEW] adept installer gives an error at the end of any installation.

2009-01-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm using Kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex for 2 months. I use it besides
windows xp. But since a week, it started to give error whenever I
download install any package through Adept Package Manager. Normally
it downloads and installs, but at the end of installation, it's always
the same like below.

First Adept says:

Commit failed.
To continue, hit ok and we will try to recover. If you close the application
now, we will not do anything and you may try to resolve the problem manually.
(If you suspect this is a bug in Adept, please also provide the following
exception description in the report).

The error was:
APT Error. Context:
Running dpkg,
[ /usr/bin/dpkg, --status-fd, 3, --configure,
libghc6-highlighting-kate-dev, libghc6-highlighting-kate-prof,
x11proto-xf86vidmode-dev, libxxf86vm-dev ],
Sup-process returned error code 1,
Error processing libghc6-highlighting-kate-dev : subprocess
post-installation script returned error exit status 1.,
Error processing libghc6-highlighting-kate-prof : dependency problems -
leaving unconfigured.

When I hit ok, then this mesage shows up:

It seems that the recovery has failed. Please fix manually (try dpkg
--configure -a and/or apt-get -f install) in terminal...

The error was:
APT Error. Context:

post-installation script returned error exit status 1.,
Error processing libghc6-highlighting-kate-prof : dependency problems -

When I try to execute the commands which adept advises for fixing the
error manullly in konsole as a root user, then it displays like below:

The password I have works in Windows XP (reception is 82%-95%). Other kinds of
wireless connections work (unprotected/WEP/...). My hardware is:
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN
[Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61)

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10.

Cheers,

[Bug 258861] Re: Plasma crashes with some widgets

2009-01-03 Thread EagleScreen
Hello Gerard, that file you attached is not valuable, that is a backtrace, but
it is not useful if you haven't debuggin symbols installed.
To can obtain a good backtrace, install debuggin symbols by installing
kdebase-dbg package and reproduce the crash.
What version of KDE are you running? you can view it checking the version of
kdebase-bin and kdebase-plasma packages you have installed in Adept.
It is strongly recommended to install recommended updates and security updates
for Intrepid, please be sure you have these updates installed.
This place is only to report bugs in the software, please for assistance, visit
Ubuntu Forums, or another Open Source community at:
http://ubuntuforums.org/index.php
http://kubuntuforums.net/

Please be sure you have your intrepid installation up-to-date and try to report
a good backtrace.
Thanks.
