*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 279081 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279081 Hi Jonathan, I am sorry but I disagree with you: this bug is not at all a duplicate of bug 279081. I am not asking for an on-the-fly spell-checker. I am asking why with the on the on-request speller, commands like \usepackage are reported as errors while in the previous versions they were not. I also think it is a bug and not an enhancement: it used to work, now it doesn't, making the spell checker in Kile completely unusable. Nevertheless, by looking at the screenshot at http://dhaumann.blogspot.com/2009/07/on-fly-spellchecking-in-kate.html it looks like this patch solves both bugs. [Bug 397138] [NEW] URL cannot be listed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdepim When adding a picture to a contact (edit contact / misc / photo) from a http:// URL, the following error message is displayed. title: Error - Kontact message: URL cannot be listed insert entered url here button: OK ok must be clicked not just once but twice. (closing the message window with X in the titlebar works too.) When using images from the web as sources for the contact photos, usually, in my case anyway, the url is valid just to a specific picture and does not mean that there should be a directory listing of available pictures at that location. After clicking away the error message, twice, the Open - Kontact window is shown. The location bar contains most of the URL used previously for adding a photo. The (file) name section is filled out with the tail part of the URL. A similar experience is to be had when proceeding, opening an image from the web. To do so, I enter the URL (http://server/dir/dir/dir/file.jpg) in the name field and click Open. An error that appears to be the same appears: URL cannot be listed http://server/dir/dir/dir/file.jpg with an OK button This time this message only appears once. Clicking away the window either via the OK button or the X lets me continue. Next the photo from the URL is displayed in a window to be cropped (title: Select Region of Image - Kontact). cropping works, adding the picture works. Just because http://server/dir/dir/dir/file.jpg; can be accessed does not mean http://server/dir/dir/dir/ can be accessed and also does not mean that http://server/dir/dir/dir/ returns a list of its contents. general details: 1) $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 9.04 Release:9.04 2) $ apt-cache policy kontact kontact: Installed: 4:4.2.95a-0ubuntu1~jaunty~ppa1 Candidate: 4:4.2.95a-0ubuntu1~jaunty~ppa1 Version table: *** 4:4.2.95a-0ubuntu1~jaunty~ppa1 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) It seems to me as the user I did nothing wrong here and therefore do not expect to see the error messages (especially when clicking photo the first time, since it loads up a previously used URL). Instead I expect that using a URL in the form of http://server/dir/dir/dir/file.jpg results in no error message so long as the file is valid and contains valid picture data. Is there a requirement that only 'browseable' sources can be used? Well actually getting the picture added works just fine. 4) Instead, the error message detailed above was shown. [Bug 356763] Re: Kpilot configuration version lower than stored version
Like what should it say? restart KPilot? The thing is: version 0 will only apply when there is indeed no configuration saved yet, which means that you clearly didn't configure KPilot for use (at least that is what it spits out to stdout). Once it displayed that incredibly long message it will quit, so technically it is correct. You need to start kpilot, which will present you with the config dialog, to then change your config and thus proceed with using the application. Although, your more advanced perception is that kpilot is spitting out that message, so I suppose restart would feel more natural for you, right? ** Changed in: kdepim (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Kpilot configuration version lower than stored version https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/356763 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdepim in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
