[Bug 455359] Re: add to addressbook not working with akonadi
I have this same problem. And then when I try to add the address by manually inputing it the vcf file never grows on disk, when I restart Akonadi the address is gone, but I can re-enter it and things work normally (vcf file grows). I have to restart Akondai though, just restarting Kontact doesn't work for me. I am using kontact 4.3.3. It seems strange you have to add the non-akondai file, I'll try that as a work around in the mean time. [Bug 492681] [NEW] [Kubuntu][Karmic][KDE 4.3.4] More than one Activity will cause slow transistion to desktop on start up
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace Upgraded to KDE 4.3.4, slow down in transition from Ksplash (KDE logo stage) to desktop when there are more than 1 activity in workspace. * Problematic behaviour: KDE start is delayed by about 10 seconds in splash screen (in final stage, when KDE logo is displayed). * Expected behaviour: KDE logo during splash disappears even before it is fully unblured. - With more than 1 activity, I change the splash screen to SimpleSmall, I can access the desktop in same the position as KDE icon (SimpleSmall splash has nothing fancy but only a black progress bar). Still have to wait 10-15s for it to blur out. When the splash's black progress bar is filled, the log in sound is played. Then I try to disable login sound, no luck, still the extra 10-15s compare to 4.3.3. @All: For me i worked out a workaround, to get the flicker away but replaced gnome-power-manager with the guidance-power-manager from kde. It's fully working in all aspects of a power - manager. This workaround is a little bit tricky. So i will make a film and upload him to youtube but only if someone is interested in that.
