[Bug 568326] Re: alt-tab switcher tries to correctly show browsers with extremely long titles, resulting in a skewed switcher dialog

2010-04-22 Thread Jonathan Thomas
Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the
KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate
your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at
https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this
speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more
effective debugging.

Thanks!

[Bug 568402] [NEW] Qt displays half width character as full width in some Japanese fonts

2010-04-22 Thread Daisuke Kameda
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libqtgui4

There is the problem that Qt displays half width character
(e.g. alphabet) as full width in some Japanese fonts.
This problem was reported in #QTBUG-1726
http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-1726.

This occurs in the following fonts.
- Monospace font
- Selif font
- IPA font (Ver.0301)
- NSimSun

In Cario and fontconfig etc., the FT_LOAD_IGNORE_GLOBAL_ADVANCE_WIDTH
is specified as flag of FT_Load_Glyph function to solve this problem.

According to the document of freetype,
this flag exists to support buggy CJK fonts.
http://www.freetype.org/freetype2/docs/reference/ft2-base_interface.html#FT_LOAD_XXX

This patch is already merged in Qt4.7 branch.

[Bug 542856] Re: gdm has entry for kde but kde is not fully installed

2010-04-22 Thread Sebastien Bacher
kdebase-workspace-data seems to ship the .desktop but not the required
commands with it, the .desktop should be installed in the same binary
than the command and not the data one, reassigning to kdebase-workspace

Could you crash amarok again, click the install debug symbols button
on the crash handler, reload the backtrace, and paste or attach it here
please? Unfortunately without any other info except it crashed,
there's really no way we can know more about the crash than you do. ;)

Re: [Bug 523883] Re: word wrap faulty: cursor jumps forward on new line

2010-04-22 Thread Dominik Wujastyk
Dear Andreas,

I don't have Kate, and I just went to install it and Synaptic has so many
KDE includes that it comes to nearly 300MB. I'm reluctant to go down that
path.

I've moved over to TeXworks for the time being. It's a strange little
beast, but I'm quite liking it. Nothing like Kile, which really feels like
a strong system for long term use.

I'm sorry I can't help more with debugging this problem.

Best wishes, and thank you for the fine work,
Dominik

[Bug 568786] [NEW] kdm package fails to install if gdm-2.20 is installed

2010-04-22 Thread Rich
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

# dpkg --configure -a
Setting up kdm (4:4.3.2-0ubuntu7.2) ...
dpkg: error processing kdm (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 kdm

Quote from strace of the dpkg:
[pid 31266] ... read resumed GET shared/default-x-display-man..., 4096) = 37
[pid 31266] write(7, 0 gdm-2.20\n, 11) = 11
[...]
[pid 31273] write(1, GET gdm-2.20/daemon_name\n, 25) = 25
[pid 31273] dup2(11, 1) = 1
[pid 31273] close(11) = 0
[pid 31273] read(0, unfinished ...
[pid 31266] ... read resumed GET gdm-2.20/daemon_name\n, 4096) = 25
[pid 31266] write(7, 10 gdm-2.20/daemon_name doesn't ..., 38) = 38

The problem appears to be that gdm-2.20 identifies itself as gdm
to...something? dbus?, but default-display-manager points to gdm-2.20,
so querying for gdm-2.20 is failing.

Repointing to gdm fails, because then certain things to start and stop
the process fail.
