[Bug 554514] Re: cant find resource agents

2010-04-29 Thread Patrick Cornelissen
Well you can use kontact, it's just not possible to retrieve any addresses from
the server, so if you want to write someone an email better have his address
ready...
(And nepomuk/virtuoso drives me crazy after I start kontact, as it keepy one
CPU busy for more than 16h now, but that's another story...)

[Bug 572010] Re: package python-qt4 4.6-1 failed to install/upgrade:

2010-04-29 Thread Monkey
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important
for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn
more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a
bug in python-qt4.
(With many applications, you can report a future bug directly on the
appropriate package by opening the application's "Help" menu and choosing
"Report a Problem". https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs)

[Bug 515837] Re: wave files in Karmic cliped while playing

2010-04-29 Thread Nerdopolis
apport information

** Description changed:

It seems that in my Kubuntu karmic system, I am unable to play some wave
files, particularly short ones. Other formats seem to play just fine
such as .ogg files. This happens in the two computers I try it on (and
if I can remember correctly perhaps even a third). (one has a M5451 PCI
AC-Link Controller Audio Device from ALi Corporation, and the other has
  an integrated Intel one)

When I try to play a wave file, such as the k3b burning complete wave file
(/usr/share/sounds/k3b_success1.wav) (reproductivity of that file has been
100%, and it gets clipped in almost the exact place) some wave files I am able
to play completely, some aren't, and it seems that the shorter and smaller wave
files have a higher chance of getting cut short.

[Bug 288470] Re: digikam cannot download pictures due to gvfsd-gphoto2

2010-04-29 Thread Daniel Hahler
Digikam could offer better help/workaround in this case:
I have reported bug 571656, which is likely a duplicate of this one.

I'm getting the following error in digikam.
"""
Failed to connect to the camera. Please make sure it is connected properly and
turned on. Would you like to try again?
[Retry] [Abort]
"""

Digikam could detect this problem and offer to "pkill gvfsd-gphoto2" or
whatever is required - as a workaround.

The real bug is the device getting (b)locked by gvfsd-gphoto2.

[Bug 571656] [NEW] Digikam cannot find usb camera when started in Gnome and not KDE

2010-04-29 Thread Daniel Hahler
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: digikam

When starting digikam in Gnome, it fails to connect to the USB camera with the
following error dialog:
"""
Failed to connect to the camera. Please make sure it is connected properly and
turned on. Would you like to try again?
[Retry] [Abort]
"""

This works when starting Digikam in KDE, so it looks like some missing
(KIO?) service is not being started or available.
