[Bug 857828] Re: kontact migration to 11.10 fails

2011-10-15 Thread Leo Milano
And this is a new stack trace, now that I installed the debug symbols.
By the way, folks, help here is appreciated, but venting is
inappropriate. This is not a forum, but a bug tracker.

[Bug 857828] Re: kontact migration to 11.10 fails

2011-10-15 Thread Leo Milano
I just had another crash. Even though I had some success with the
migration, KMail sometimes freezes, folders take a long time to refresh
and show the contents of the emails, and this is the most recent crash
(I will install the debug symbols). Soprano is disabled right now, as it
tends to crash or apparently leak memory , and takes over my 3 cpus,
although it's been indexing for days now).

[Bug 875389] [NEW] O KMail encontrou um erro fatal e será fechado agora.

If i disable desktop effects in kde there is no crash.
Crash is happening every time. I login for the first time everything is fine,
logout, then try to login and X crashes returning me to the kdm login.
Had no problem with 11.04 whatsoever.

[Bug 872098] [NEW] KDE (Kubuntu) doesn't show shutdown option when launched by lightdm

2011-10-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I've upgraded my Ubuntu 11.04 to Ubuntu 11.10 and discovered that Gnome3
is a piece of s., so I installed Kubuntu to give KDE a try. As I
were on a Ubuntu instalation, I was using lightdm, the Ubuntu's default.
And I realized that There is no option to Shutdown KDE. I did a research
on the internet and found the link below, saying that I should use KDM
to be able to Shutdown my KDE system normally (without have to logout
first).

http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/ubuntu-linux/92923-cant-shutdown-
kubuntu.html

If think this is annoying, You should either make the shutdown option
available when started by lightdm or at least force KDM when installing
Kubuntu.

[Bug 872405] Re: Swap partition smaller than RAM (entire disk install)

2011-10-15 Thread Dave Gilbert
Why is this a bug? I don't believe there is a requirement to have the
swap partition >= size of RAM (like there was on some very very very old
UNIX systems); if you're getting 2GB into swap you've got some major
problems anyway.

[Bug 873790] [NEW] No Title Bars In Kubuntu 11.10 Fresh Install

2011-10-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I did a fresh install of Kubuntu 11.10 today. Full disk, downloaded
updates while installing. However, one of the issues I'm having is there
are no title bars in any application windows. I looked in System
Settings -> Workspace Appearance -> Configure Decoration... -> Window-
Specific Overrides to see if an exception had been added to hide title
bars, but everything is normal. I have googled and searched other bugs
but so far I haven't found anything. I'm guessing this is a window
manager issue (Kwin) but I don't really know for certain. Any advice on
solving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

[Bug 849508] Re: [Upstream] Double clicking on .ods file opens Calc but does not load file

2011-10-15 Thread Jorge E . Gómez
The bug seems not to be related to KDE. I found it after upgrading to
11.10, when trying to open a Calc file generated by phpMyAdmin (2.8K,
attached).

The file (donwloaded to my home dir, renamed as test.ods) will open fine
from File > Open within LibreOffice, but trying to double click it on
Nautilus will cause it to hang, after the "Loading" bar is halfway
through.
