[Bug 1568258] Re: Notification-Helper: Request install Flash, but already installed

2016-04-30 Thread Valdo
Hi all,

looks like being the same issue on my end. In my case, this is a fresh
install of Kubuntu 16.04 LTS. "QApt Batch Installer" offers me to
install a "Flash" package for Firefox (I could figure out recently this
is actually flashplugin-installer), but systematically fails, without
any details available in the GUI. Fed up receiving this installation
suggestion again and again, I ended up installing flashplugin-installer
manually, which succeeded, replacing btw 2 other packages that were
already installed automatically on my machine: adobe-flash-properties-
gtk / adobe-flashplugin. I can provide additional information if needed
to troubleshoot this issue.

[Bug 422174] Re: cannot connect to hidden ssid

2016-04-30 Thread Bruce Miller
Reading around the problem, I found that some wifi drivers don't seem
to run the KeyRing Authorization routine properly if a hidden SSID is
used. This leads to the authorization not getting saved.

This FIXED it for me: At the router, temporarily enable SSID broadcast.
Make a connection and Save. Test WiFi with Disconnect and Connect. Go
back to the router, re-disable broadcast and hide your router. Re-test,
your connection should still work. In theory ...

( For me, a Realtek 8187)

[Bug 635384]

2016-04-30 Thread Elvis-angelaccio
Git commit 074d52778f68c2b1456ba54633bace8e37cb by Elvis Angelaccio.
Committed on 30/04/2016 at 11:02.
Pushed by elvisangelaccio into branch 'master'.

Don't block the main thread while running CliInterface jobs

Currently we freeze the GUI thread while running CliInterface jobs,
because there is a nested event loop in runProcess(),
which doesn't run anymore in a separate thread.

We can simply drop this event loop and rework the CliInterface logic,
such that the emit signal is not emitted anymore when runProcess() returns,
but in processFinished() instead.

This exposed a crash when closing the main window while a pending job was
running. The fix is simply to not emit finished() if the m_abortingOperation
flag is set.

According to the README.formats file, which is included in the fonts-
noto-cjk source package, OTC "works" on recent versions of Mac and Linux
but not Windows. So they don't seem to be identical.

Hmm.. I see now that you anticipated problems with "Super OTC" [1] long
ago. At that time I hadn't a clue what you were talking about. :(

What you say is correct, but we shouldn't use the whole community of
Ubuntu users as a test panel, should we?

Why not do both? I filed this ticket:
https://github.com/googlei18n/noto-cjk/issues/65

Hopefully it's the right place.

Can you possibly confirm that the PPA version of fonts-noto-cjk
addresses the issues we have found up to now (at the expense of more
disk space)?

[1] Super OTC is the font format installed with the version of
fonts-noto-cjk which is currently in the Ubuntu archive.
