[Bug 1584612] Re: Mobile broadband requires reboot every time
I considered what you said and put the sim card into a phone even though it was allegedly unlocked and set it as you suggested and indeed it does NOT ask for a pin now. I would consider the main issue resolved now, thanks! I've been fighting this for 2 years unsuccessfully so this is a major win for me. The superuser access issue is a separate one but does not affect me now since the pin is unlocked. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to plasma-nm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1584612 Title: Mobile broadband requires reboot every time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-nm/+bug/1584612/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1584612] Re: Mobile broadband requires reboot every time
Well, we never spoke about that – before. I'd suggest you get a replacement from your provider. If he likes to argue about cost ... just tell him you need the option for mini-SIM. When we took away the the PIN request via mobile-fone, the sim-card never pretented to ask for it, so this is likely to be a HW-error.

[Bug 1584612] Re: Mobile broadband requires reboot every time
Did you ever try disabling the pin? Even though its a given measure of security, that's what I've been recommeded by a local helpdesk of the broadband provider (abroad in another part of Europe). Since I were the only person having pysical access to the device & knowing that mobile broadband is costy (limited access volume, after that throtteling) this was an acceptable solution. The steps to follow, were: Put the SIM card in a mobile Phone, disable request for PIN. That's common procedure with a USB-Stick for mobile connection.

[Bug 1634565] Re: konsole badly broken in yakkety: crashes, leaves process behind on exit using 100% cpu
Seems to be bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343803. The bug seems to be triggered by the combination of Qt, plasma 5 *and* the legacy nvidia 340 driver. It is unfortunate that KDE people are marking this as "resolve" when clearly it is not. It is also unfortunate that they mark it as "upstream" (indicating that it is a bug in the nvidia stack) which suggests that they intend to do nothing about it, when in fact: - it is unclear if the bug was actually fixed with more modern nvidia proprietary drivers. The bug may be caused by some race and it may be merely the different timings in the more modern nvidia drivers or in noveau avoid triggering it; - it should be totally possible to have a Qt terminal that does not cause the problem, as Qterminal shows. ** Bug watch added: KDE Bug Tracking System #343803 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343803 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to konsole in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1634565 Title: konsole badly broken in yakkety: crashes, leaves process behind on exit using 100% cpu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/konsole/+bug/1634565/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
