Hello Jean-Baptiste, or anyone else affected, Accepted e2fsprogs into cosmic-proposed. [Bug 1813349] [NEW] Dolphin doesn't show (all) linked folders
Public bug reported: Since upgrading from 18.04 to 18.10 a few days ago, Dolphin doesn't show two linked folders anymore while it displays everything else as before. They are links to /mnt/hdd and /mnt/ssd where I have two mounted two additional physical drives. The links work in Konsole and any other application and yet Dolphin won't show them. The source folders are owned by my user and the user has rwx permissions on the folders. Dolphin does however show at least one other linked folder where the actual source is under my home directory (e.g. PlayOnLinux -> /home/andy/.PlayOnLinux is displayed correctly). In general, Dolphin must be aware of the two linked folders it doesn't display because when I start typing the path /home/andy/HDD in the address bar, Dolphin suggests the folder directly after typing the H. Navigating to the folder this way and browsing it works as expected as well. I also searched all of Dolphins settings but couldn't find anything that seems related to the problem or even solves it. I hope you can reproduce the bug and help me solve it. Also, please be gentle with me, this is my first bug report. ;) Best regards Andy 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu Ubuntu 18.10 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center 4:18.04.3-0ubuntu2 3) What you expected to happen Opening dolphin should display all files/folders including the two links described above in my home folder (except hidden files) 4) What happened instead Opening dolphin displays all files/folders in my home folder EXCEPT for the two links described above (and hidden files) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.10 Package: dolphin 4:18.04.3-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.18.0-13.14-generic 4.18.17 Uname: Linux 4.18.0-13-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu13.1 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Fri Jan 25 19:01:04 2019 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/dolphin InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-07-11 (198 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) SourcePackage: dolphin UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to cosmic on 2019-01-18 (6 days ago) ** Affects: dolphin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug cosmic ** Attachment added: "Screenshot showing the discrepancy between dolphin and konsole view of my home folder." https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813349/+attachment/5232536/+files/bug.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to dolphin in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813349 Title: Dolphin doesn't show (all) linked folders To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dolphin/+bug/1813349/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

Perform a first installation of Ubuntu 2. Reboot into the freshly installed system and verify everything works as expected 3. Do a second installation and select "Install alonogside". Keep the size proposed by the installer and proceed to the end of installation 4. Reboot 5. On boot, in the list of installed systems, select the first system installed on the machine 6. Verify that it boots, you can login and it works as expected Actual Result The FS is corrupted and depending on the corruption it goes to initramfs, boots but cannot login, ... + + + [Regression potential] + This changes behavior in the update logic for extent blocks; as such, care should be taken to make sure that testing takes into account the possibility to introduce filesystem corruption while resizing.
