[Bug 1868704] [NEW] Second monitor starts up black

2020-03-24 Thread Roger Light
Public bug reported:

I have two monitors, a landscape 1680x1050 (main monitor) and a portrait
1920x1080, rotated 90 degrees anticlockwise (secondary monitor). Nvidia
graphics card, with the proprietary drivers.

When I log in, the secondary monitor is entirely black. If I move my
mouse to the monitor, I can see it. If I try to drag a window to it, I
can see the mouse cursor but no window.

If I use Ctrl-Alt-F2 to swap to a console, then swap back to the desktop
the problem is resolved and I have a notification stating that kwin
restarted desktop effects due to a graphics change.

This is reproducible, it happens every time I log in.

Please let me know if I can provide more details.

[Bug 1868885] [NEW] Deleting known wifi connection fails but completes

2020-03-24 Thread MarkF
Public bug reported:

ISO testing 20.04 Kubuntu daily-image (20200324). I connect to two
access points. I want to delete one of them. I go to System
Settings->Network->Connections, right click on the unwanted wifi
connection, and choose "delete." A msg says "Failed to remove -- error
checking authentication." But, that same popup says it succeeded (and it
did. The accesspoint disappears from the list).

A msg also appears in journald:

3/24/20 2:48 PM NetworkManager[1585086538.6816] audit: op
="connection-delete" uuid="8e3b939b-154a-4250-9554-453bbfe28f70"
name="stinky" pid=2433 uid=1000 result="fail" reason="Error checking
authorization: connection was deleted"

This isn't a big problem. I just wanted to make it known.
