[Bug 1575781] Re: Firefox 46 crashes on Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) with Oxygen-GTK3
I have the same problems with graphical artifacts like white bars in the address search bar, in websites, when marking something, and the mouseover-text is black on black background, the scrollbar shows black artifacts. There is also no space anymore between the text of the context menu, or the bookmark window or the noscript menu . That's why the menus are very small. Furthermore the bookmark bar is pressed together, so the icons and text are overlapping. The form fields and buttons are very small for the text in general. The "Save-As-"-Dialog has also problems with text not fitting in the form fields. The navigation through the folders-bar is also overlapping with the arrows and text. These problems are also in Kubuntu 14.04 , not only 12.04. I installed the last working versions from website, but it makes no difference. https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=oxygen-gtk.git 12.04: oxygen-gtk2-1.4.6.tar.bz2 oxygen-gtk3-1.2.2.tar.bz2 14.04. oxygen-gtk2-1.4.6.tar.bz2 oxygen-gtk3-1.4.1.tar.bz2 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to oxygen-gtk3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575781 Title: Firefox 46 crashes on Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) with Oxygen-GTK3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1575781/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 355870] [NEW] [jaunty] konsole getting slower
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: konsole I'm running Kubuntu Jaunty. I'm doing most of my work in konsole, mostly using tabs. Ever since I upgraded from Intrepid I observe that konsole is getting slower and slower after a few hours of work have passed. I can feel a slight lag (only a few 100ms, but annoying as hell) when changing between tabs or changing the screen content (changing into another channel in irssi). Same when cat'ing a large textfile, it is fast and smooth after login but gets pretty sluggish after a few hours. It is probably not related to Bug #343714 since my memory consumption appears to be normal, there is plenty of RAM free or used as disk cache, also only a few MB of the swap is used. Restarting konsole completely (I made sure no konsole process was left running) doesn't help, logging out and in again does. So far I have experienced the problem on three different machines, all running Jaunty Dell Latitude D630, G965, EXA, Desktop Effects Dell OptiPlex 760, Q45/43, UXA, Desktop Effects self-made ASrock 780G-based (radeon-driver), EXA, no Desktop Effects I think the OptiPlex got better after I switched to UXA, hard to tell. [Bug 182398] Qt4 always prefers IPv4 over IPv6
Public bug reported: I installed KDE4 on Hardy and Gutsy backports today and noticed that no application (kget, konqueror, ktorrent 3.0beta1 compiled by myself) did connections through IPv6 by default. After spending some time in IRC I found out that Qt4 reorders the results of getaddrinfo() in src/network/qhostinfo_unix.cpp around line 160 and always prefers IPv4. I have asked around why this was the case and got a few answers that don't really make sense a) IPv6 causes problems for people with broken resolvers that time out/SERVFAIL on queries True, but the reordering does not fix this problem, as getaddrinfo() is called with AF_UNSPEC nevertheless. Quite some work has gone into Ubuntu libc6 to avoid queries at all if no global IPv6 address is configured, so this is no cause in Ubuntu b) The "old default" sorting (IPv6 before IPv4) loaded the module automatically since it was trying to connect() to an AF_INET6 address first. True, but not an issue in Ubuntu due to the changes in libc6. Also, all Ubuntu boxes I had so far had IPv6 automatically loaded at boot. And the reordering only delays the autoloading until you hit the first dualstack node that is down and falls back to IPv6 c) Other issues might cause IPv6 to be considered usable when it is actually broken, timing out on connects. True, but one should fix the root cause, not a symptom. After all the Qt4 changes don't hit ssh, telnet, Mozilla applications, gnome applications and so on. In fact, different behaviour might confuse people even more. d) IPv6 is probably slower due to being tunneled Erm, I don't know where some people live, but we have 10GE pipes with native IPv6 here. And even if it was always slower, IPv6 is usually an opt-in game at the moment. The fix is easy, please change the addresses.prepend(addr) to addresses.append(addr) in src/network/qhostinfo_unix.cpp:169. I've reported the bug upstream at trolltech as well. ** Affects: qt4-x11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Qt4 always prefers IPv4 over IPv6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182398 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for qt4-x11 in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
