[Bug 41976] Re: adept ask a question but not possible to answer

2006-05-09 Thread Fabio Massimo Di Nitto
This is really weird because before entering the loop we make sure that the
value is safe.

# next question requires input validation; assume safe valid value already
# present (possibly the template default)
SAFE=
if db_get x11-common/xwrapper/nice_value; then
  SAFE=$RET
fi

# make sure it's really safe; if not, use the default
if ! validate_nice_value $RET; then
  SAFE=0
  run db_set x11-common/xwrapper/nice_value $SAFE
fi

and the loop of death..

anyway i am going to bump the priority in case of error. it seems the most sane
thing to do anyway.

[Bug 33931] Re: Kubuntu Display applet causes temporary switch to text mode

2006-05-09 Thread Fabio Massimo Di Nitto
xresprobe should never be executed from within X and it does respect the driver
it is asked to use. I am not sure what this kde.guidance do but i fail to see
this as an xresprobe bug.

[Bug 42347] Re: Cursor speed unaffected by preference-settings

2006-05-03 Thread Fabio Massimo Di Nitto
X exports a standard API towards both Kubuntu and Ubuntu. Given that this works
on Ubuntu, i can only assume something in Kubuntu is flaky.

[Bug 36960] Re: Updates modified my xorg.conf

2006-04-28 Thread Fabio Massimo Di Nitto
not an xorg bug. If this bug was there i would have noticed immediatly
since my xorg is custom and i do update each time before even uploading
to the archive.

[Bug 36960] Re: Updates modified my xorg.conf

2006-04-28 Thread Fabio Massimo Di Nitto
Rocco's comment in just wrong. I did check the code for that and the xcustom
check he is talking about it's used only manually.

What I am saying is this bug doesn't exists any more or it has been fixed in
the time while i was not maintaing X. Given that I got X again after one year
and catching up on bugs, I can see that this is not there anylonger. If it was
the case i would have noticed already 2 weeks ago.
