[Bug 1988819] Re: When apt keeps back packages due to phased updates, it should list them separately
My vote is to remove this "phased updates" feature until the UI can be fixed. Right now I run `apt update` and it tells me "N packages can be upgraded", then I run `apt upgrade` and it tells me no packages will be upgraded because "N packages are held back". There is no mention of "phased updates". Very confused, wasting my time on this after upgrading to 22.04. Have been using Ubuntu since 2005 and found this very confusing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1988819 Title: When apt keeps back packages due to phased updates, it should list them separately To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/1988819/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

** Description changed: - Merge calligra 3.2.1+dfsg-6 (current in Kinetic is - calligra_3.2.1+dfsg-5ubuntu2). + The delta between 3.2.1+dfsg-5 and 1:3.2.1+dfsg-5ubuntu2 was introduced + by LP: #1980373 to address compatibility with a new Poppler version and + it consisted in + + * adding libpoppler-qt5-dev as a build dependency; and + + * Fixing API calls to Poppler by means of upstream_Fix-compile-with- + poppler-22-06.patch. + + In 3.2.1+dfsg-6, + + * the build-depend has been added to the control file; and + + * the patch upstream_Fix-compile-with-poppler-22-06.patch was split into + the two patches upstream_PdfImport-Fix-compile-with-newer- + poppler{,_2}.patch. + + Therefore the Ubuntu changes can be overridden. + + I confirmed with sbuild that 3.2.1+dfsg-6 builds successfully in + Kinetic. ** Summary changed: - Merge calligra 3.2.1+dfsg-6 from Debian unstable + Sync calligra 3.2.1+dfsg-6 from Debian unstable -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to calligra in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1980960 Title: Sync calligra 3.2.1+dfsg-6 from Debian unstable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calligra/+bug/1980960/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1325801] Re: failed to boot from USB disk with error: gfxboot.c32: not a COM32R Image boot:
I had this problem with the 16.04.1 desktop amd64 stick I made on my 14.04 system, but I just had to enter "live" at the prompt to boot into the live desktop and install as normal. After doing that and booting into the new live system, it was also easy to "fix" the USB stick permanently with the new syslinux available therein, as detailed here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/486602/ubuntu-14-04-lts-live-usb-boot- error-gfxboot-c32not-a-valid-com32r-image/746412#746412 As for the newer version of creator included with 16.04, its behavior was rather unexpected. Instead of copying files into the existing filesystem and installing syslinux nondestructively, it seems to simply write a raw binary image over the first 1.5GB of the disk. It warned me and all, but I didn't see any other option. It didn't have the COM32R error at boot, but I personally feel the destructive copying is much worse. Did I mess something up, or is that the intended behavior now? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1325801 Title: failed to boot from USB disk with error: gfxboot.c32: not a COM32R Image boot: To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-cdimage/+bug/1325801/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
