Public bug reported: In the Plasma desktop set the title bar double click action to Shade Double click a title bar The window shades up to the title bar. [Bug 1916857] Re: colord not working correctly in KDE / Plasma 5.21
Sorry it's been a while. I have found that if I log in at a terminal, F2, before logging in to the graphical desktop the colour profile sticks. No need to run any commands, just log in. However, it's pretty fragile. Change the screen layout, or other setting, or plug in a different monitor and the profile resets, but the settings dialog still shows the profile as applied. Selecting No Profile and then the profile causes the profile to be reapplied, and as long as the terminal login is still active the profile will stick. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to plasma-desktop in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916857 Title: colord not working correctly in KDE / Plasma 5.21 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-desktop/+bug/1916857/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1916857] Re: Color corections not sticking in Plasma
It appears to be colord. When the service is stopped KDE / Plasma is able to dictate the colour profile to be used. So KDE / Plasma 5.21 is unable to act as a client to colord and its desires are being overridden by colord on a polled basis. Ubuntu / Gnome is able to override what colord defaults to, but only as long as you're using Ubuntu / Gnome. So what is colord using as its default? This is different from the default profile in KDE / Plasma. How is colord configured?
Appears it's not limited to just Plasma. Every login option apart from Ubuntu (Xorg) exhibits the same behaviour. For some reason I now have Ubuntu, Ubuntu (Xorg) and Ubuntu (Wayland), and Plasma (X11) offered for login. Plasma (Wayland) just hangs. Tried launching the Ubuntu settings app as me and sudo when in Plasma but the same behaviour is exhibited. Need to login using Ubuntu (Xorg), change the colour corrections, logout, login using Plasma (X11), launch Plasma settings and apply the colour corrections. On logging in to Plasma (X11) I noticed the correct colour correction is checked but not applied. I need to select a different profile and the select the desired one again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to plasma-desktop in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916857 Title: Color corections not sticking in Plasma To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-desktop/+bug/1916857/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1916857] [NEW] Color corections not sticking in Plasma
Public bug reported: My laptop screen needs colour corrections. In Groovy this worked but in Hirsute it doesn't. I calibrated the screen and have a good profile. In Groovy I used the systemsettings5 app to install and use this colour correction. All worked perfectly. In Hirsute this profile is still there and clicking on it applies the corrections, but a few seconds later it reverts. The checkbox remains where it is. Clicking in Default and back on the profile repeats, profile on, profile off after a couple of seconds. I have installed three other profiles and notice that the delay is after the first click. I.e. clicking on profile after profile, the reversion always occurs about 3 seconds after the first click, not the last. To get the profile to stick I had to log out, log in using Ubuntu / Gnome default desktop, apply the corrections there, log out and log in to Plasma-X11. However, this didn't last over a reboot. [Bug 1916852] [NEW] Update bails leaving system in a corrupted state
Public bug reported: I ran a do-release-upgrade and all seemed to run ok until it hit some kind of error at which point it exited saying the system had been returned to its original state. Unfortunately it hadn't. I carried on working, thought nothing more about the error, assuming the system was as it was before, until I rebooted. The system booted, launched X, sddm and the login screen. However, the login screen was a mess, no icons and black text in black boxes. I logged in and the desktop was the same, actually worse. I dropped in to the terminal to discover there were 3,500 package updates. The /etc/apt/ directory had been overwritten with entries for hirsute. Some packages must have already been updated to break the DM so badly. Attempting to run the updates showed there was one new package that conflicted with a new one. The old package uninstalled with no dependencies and no issues. Sorry, can't remember the package, but it was a -data or some such. [Bug 290931] Re: KDE 4.1 widgets too large; eg clock takes up entire panel
Afraid not - I've tried adding and removing all the widgets, but my problem is that some of them take up more space than they need to - a slightly dodgy illustration would be that the system tray is this big |--| but it takes up this much space on the panel (which, when moving it, can be seen as a highlighted space around it) || The clock's even worse. At the moment I've got an application launcher, task manager and system tray which work together fairly happily, but I have no space to add anything else. -- KDE 4.1 widgets too large; eg clock takes up entire panel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290931 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
