[Bug 1465866] Re: Can't terminate session after a while
The driver manager in system settings offers 3 graphics drivers; - nvidia 352 (recommended) - nvidia 352-updates - x.org nouveau display driver I have tried with all three drivers (with a reboot between changes) and the freeze-on-shutdown symptoms occur with each of the nvidia drivers, but not (so far) with the x.org driver. [Bug 941826] Re: PyQt cannot compile shaders with Ubuntu's Nvidia drivers
The first entry of "libGL.so" in "ldconfig -p" points to "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGL.so", which is a symlink to the mesa driver. After deleting that link pyqt works fine as expected. That symlink belongs to the "libgl1-mesa-dev" package and seems to overrule the libGL.so entries in ldconfig for the nvidia driver. ** Also affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to python-qt4 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/941826 Title: PyQt cannot compile shaders with Ubuntu's Nvidia drivers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/941826/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 941826] Re: PyQt cannot compile shaders with Ubuntu's Nvidia drivers
Ok, I think I found the problem. Apparently the PyQt application ends up loading the Mesa GL library (/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1.2.0) instead of the NVidia driver (/usr/lib/nvidia-331/libGL.so.331.38) that is loaded when importing PyOpenGL first. The difference seems to be the library name when calling dlopen(). PyOpenGL tries to import "libGL.so.1", whereas PyQt imports "libGL.so", without the ".1" suffix. A simple C application calling dlopen() and checking /proc//maps shows that "libGL.so" points to the Mesa driver, whereas "libGL.so.1" ends up loading the NVidia driver. So this is a bug in Ubuntu's NVidia package I assume? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to python-qt4 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/941826 Title: PyQt cannot compile shaders with Ubuntu's Nvidia drivers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/941826/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 941826] [NEW] OpenGL backend not working with Nvidia driver package
Public bug reported: I'm having trouble with a combination of NVIDIA + Python + Qt + Opengl. I tried using a QGraphicsView on a QGLWidget. [Bug 886875] Re: Akonadi Configured but Calendar Empty
More Background: This occurred on upgrade from Natty. Steps taken to fault find: I imported a copy of my calendar file but still the calendar remained empty. On advice I made sure Settings>Sidebar>Show Calendar Manager was checked, but Calendar Manager did not display! I did a clean install of Oneiric (on a spare partition) and the Calendar worked properly and I was able to observe Calendar Manager - and find out how to turn calendars on and off. I returned to my upgraded installation and was able to reveal Calendar Manager by dragging the Sidebar open. I was then able to see Calendar Manager and enable my calendar. PROBLEM SOLVED. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1) The Upgrade from Natty should be debugged so that it preserves the currently selected calendars. 2) On importing a calendar the newly imported calendar should be selected (by default), or the Calendar Manager should be forced to show in the sidebar and sidebar forced to expand if collapsed. 3) When a show option such as Settings>Sidebar>Show Calendar Manager is selected the sidebar should be expanded if in the collapsed state. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdepim in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886875 Title: Akonadi Configured but Calendar Empty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdepim/+bug/886875/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 554514] Re: cant find resource agents
Think I spoke too soon - I have done a lot of reboots, trying to fix a sound problem, and I get akonadi up ok about 1 in 4 times -- cant find resource agents https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554514 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to akonadi in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 573674] Re: sound from speakers and external speakers together
Since reporting this I have updated to 2.6.32.22 kernel - the problem persists I have tried installing the backported alsa modues which added 2 extra mic channels (none worked) and the external speakers stopped working altogether. I have also tried editing /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf adding options snd-hda-intel model= with laptop, laptop-hp or hp none of which have made a difference -- sound from speakers and external speakers together https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/573674 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to qt4-x11 in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 554514] Re: cant find resource agents
Just to add to what has already been said - I have this same problem. I am using akonadi to link to a google calender and addressbook but not to my standard kde address book and calendar (I was but stopped because of the problems I was having every time I started up my computer). I can confirm that if I stop anything and everything related to Kontact, stop Akonadi, start Akonadi, start Koantact all works as expected. But if I let things happen as normal Akonadi complains of no resource agents. If I stop Kontact and Akonadi and then start Kontact I get the error as well (which I how I generated the selftest attached) -- cant find resource agents https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554514 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to akonadi in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
