[Bug 290866] Re: Wrong display of thousands separator

2010-06-03 Thread Ralph Janke
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and
your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a
lot if you could test the current Ubuntu version (10.04). If you can test it,
and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs
by running apport-collect , and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

[Bug 548997] Re: kdm login fails while console login + startx works fine

2010-03-27 Thread Ralph Janke
Thanks for reporting this issue.

However, the problem seem to be unrelated to the error message given. I
can login with the same empty directory.

Please provide more information.

1) /var/log/Xorg.*.log files
2) output of "sudo lshw" showing your hardware

Please also state some more information what happens. Does the X-server
come up and gives you a login screen? At what stage does a problem occur
and how does it show itself?

Thanks for you help!

[Bug 117982] Re: NIS breaks userconfig

2009-12-10 Thread Ralph Janke
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the newest
release - Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with
it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu.
Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

[Bug 371079] [NEW] [jaunty] kdm does not start kwin

2009-05-02 Thread Ralph Janke
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdm

After upgrade from hardy through intrepid to jaunty, kdm does not start
kwin anymore, therefore, no windows-decorations are shown.

I had to install the nvidia driver 185.19 in order to get anything
working. Now there are no problems in the Xorg.0.log file anymore.
However, as said, the system is not usable without a windows decorator.

[Bug 131590] Re: Color Scheme not properly applied in Konqueror and KSystemLog

2008-07-05 Thread Ralph Janke
Thanks for your suggestions.

1) usability is classified wishlist according to our conventions.

2) There is an easy workaround by choosing manually a different color
scheme.

3) the suggestion to calculate the contrast is a feature request that is
far too complex to be handled via a bug report. Please suggest this idea
to http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com if you think it should be pursued.

Thanks for you time.

[Bug 244372] Re: KNotify crashed and caused signal 11 (SIGSEGV)

2008-06-30 Thread Ralph Janke
Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make Kubuntu better.

Unfortunately, the crash file does not yield the necessary information,
since as it is normal, the debug information are missing. Please install
the missing packages that provide the necessary debug symbols.

Every official KDE module has an additional package in the repository,
suffixed with -dbg. Always install kdelibs-dbg, because all KDE
applications use kdelibs. Then you should install a -dbg package for the
application which crashed. For example if KOrganizer crashed you should
install kdepim-dbg as well.

After installation of those packages, please reproduce the crash and
provide the new crash file.

Thanks again for your help.

[Bug 243713] Re: kopete crashed at bootup

2008-06-28 Thread Ralph Janke
Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make Kubuntu better.

Unfortunately the stacktrace provided has mostly undefined entries,
which is normal if the debugging symbols are not installed.

Could you please install the package with the Kopete debugging symbols
(kopete-dbgsym) which can be found in the repositories

deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com hardy main universe
deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com hardy-updates main universe
deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com hardy-proposed main universe

and reproduce this problem.

The stacktrace obtained should then have the information necessary to
look at this problem.

[Bug 86937] Re: konsole: fails to redraw after skim-anthy completion window covers it

2008-04-23 Thread Ralph Janke
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the newest release - Hardy Heron. It would help us
greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in
the next release of Ubuntu. Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

[Bug 121250] Re: When printing 2 pages per sheet in Konqueror, right hand page is cropped

2008-03-29 Thread Ralph Janke
Thanks for submitting this problem and helping to make Kubuntu better.

I have tried to reproduce this problem with the newest packages, but was
not successful. I don't have letter paper, so I did it with the pdf-
driver. The pdf came out fine. Therefore, it could be either fixed in
the new packages, or it is rather a printer-driver problem than
Konqueror. Could you please retest this with the newest packages, and
also see if this only happens with Konqueror, but not with other
applications.

Thanks

If you can re-produce it, could you please give detailed steps, how it
can be reproduced (does it have to do with the size of Konqueror etc.)

On second thought, I do not see the sense of this. The user agent

run on a Kubuntu installation.

Furthermore, you can change the user agent header with the extension for
