Public bug reported: kdenlive normally shows lists of effects plugins or composition tools in a pane/tab at various places in the UI. After installing kdenlive directly from apt, these panes show blank space (white in my case, despite the dark theme). This appears to be a UI rendering problem, which I suspect for the following reasons:
1. The effects are available from the menu: Timeline→Add Effect→[choose effect category]→[choose effect] 2. After I installed qml-module-org-kde-kcm via apt, the problem went away and the interface now shows the effects tree as shown in the documentation for kdenlive. This appears to be a missing dependency only, and for a rather prominent video editor in Ubuntu.
