[Bug 1800285] Re: update to bugfix release 1.2.5

2018-10-29 Thread Valorie Zimmerman
Tried today with a large textfile (#kde channel from ~2012 to now!)
about 195 Mb with perfect success. Uploaded it from the Gdrive browser
window from my computer. Opened Dolphin to Network > Gdrive and moved it
back to my Downloads folder.

It was fast (less than a minute), opened fine -- I could read the
beginning, middle and end of the file just fine.

More details in the screenshot, attached.

2018-05-21 Thread Valorie Zimmerman
Testing -proposed in Bionic -- installed all of the new Plasma packages.
Discover works well, installed some of the updates successfully,
downloaded, installed and enabled a couple of widgets; also working
great.

SDDM looks beautiful and logged in with no hitches. Plasma-nm connected
to wifi successfully. Paired my phone via bluetooth with no issues.
KInfoCenter is full of information, all correct. Ksysguard is working
flawlessly. Powerdevil correctly notices when I unplug the laptop.

Just tested the copying of some images using Dolphin from one of my

Since this seems to be a Plasma issue rather than a Kubuntu/ubuntu

I personally upgraded and experienced none of the issues in the bug

[Bug 1562406] Re: [FFe] Update to latest upstream version

2016-03-27 Thread Valorie Zimmerman
I've also just installed Muon from Clive's PPA, and it works like a
charm. Downloads updates and installs them without a hitch.

[Bug 1304301] [NEW] System Notification Helper pops up always

2014-04-08 Thread Valorie Zimmerman
Public bug reported:

Apt-cache-policy shows me that the name of this is kubuntu-notification-
helper. I'm filing a bug because now it pops up almost immediately upon
closing it, whether I take any action or not. The choices of drivers is
always the same, and I'm running what it reports is the recommended
driver. There is no need for it to pop up unless the state has changed.

I can submit a screenshot if necessary.

[Bug 1298805] Re: package krita 1:2.8.0-0ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/kde4/kritaclonesarray.so', which is also in package calligra-libs 1:2.8.0-0ubuntu4

2014-03-28 Thread Valorie Zimmerman
The same happens during upgrade using apt-get. First, during the
upgrade:

Unpacking krita (1:2.8.1-0ubuntu2) over (1:2.8.0-0ubuntu4) ...
dpkg: error processing archive
/var/cache/apt/archives/krita_1%3a2.8.1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/kde4/kritaclonesarray.so', which is also in
package calligra-libs 1:2.8.0-0ubuntu4
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)

Error at the end: Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/krita_1%3a2.8.1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

When I used sudo apt-get -f install to fix, krita was again upgraded,
this time successfully.

[Bug 319494] Re: Tracks in Various Artists Albums aren't grouped together

2010-09-23 Thread Valorie Zimmerman
In every case where I have run into this bug -- it has actually been
incorrect tagging. If Various Artists is correctly set as the Album
Artist, and the Album name is identical for all the tracks, all the
tracks will correctly be sorted as an Album in VA. If people prefer to
see all tracks sorted with the artists, they shouldn't use the Album
Artist tag. The developers have correctly left the organization up to
the users, since some prefer it one way, and some prefer it the other.

Using a good tagging app before moving the album into the collection is
a wise move. I prefer Picard, but EasyTag and Kid3 have their advocates
also.
