[Bug 410466] Re: [karmic] Unable to logout/reboot/shutdown from within KDE

2009-08-11 Thread glepore70
Confirming this on Kubuntu Jaunty with KDE 4.3 installed from PPA. The
first attempt to logout gets the confirm dialog; subsequent attempts do
not get the confirm dialog. There appears to be no way to troubleshoot
this bug. Shutting down from the command line works normally.
Attempting a shutdown with OpenOffice open with an unsaved file prompted
me to save the file, whereupon it saved the file and closed OpenOffice,
but the machine did not shutdown, nor did Firefox (which was also open)
close.

[Bug 87938] Ark error on multiple file compress (feisty)

2007-02-25 Thread glepore70
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdeutils

When selecting multiple files in Konqueror, right clicking and choosing
Compress, parts of the resulting menu are in French, which is not my
default language setting.

The first line in the Compress sub-menu is:
Archive tar compactee par gzip

The sub-menu Compress As is also (at least) partly in French:
Archive tar
Archive tar compactee par gzip
Archive tar compactee par bzip2
Unknown
Archive zip
7-zip archive

I uninstalled and purged Ark, but the re-installed version has the same
problems.

[Bug 34381] Re: Dapper - Korn - Unable to delete email after right-click-view email

2006-05-12 Thread glepore70
To clarify, the right-clicking is on the Korn icon on the taskbar, not
on an actual message. I select the message by highlighting it, then
click on the Delete button at the bottom of the Korn window.

[Bug 37246] Re: Unable to browse web with Konqueror

2006-04-15 Thread glepore70
Well, reinstalling kdelibs-data didn't fix the problem. However, renaming the
.kde directory did fix the problem. I'm convinced this was user error, go
ahead and close the bug, thanks for all your help, Francois-Denis!

[Bug 37246] Re: Unable to browse web with Konqueror

2006-03-30 Thread glepore70
Interesting, I've known about some funny mime-type settings on my machine,
Adobe Acrobat wants to own anything with a mime-type of
application/octet-stream. I don't know if this is related. Might there be a
setting to restore all mime-type settings to Kubuntu default?

[Bug 37244] Unable to close ksysv w/o killall

2006-03-29 Thread glepore70
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37244

Affects: kdeadmin ksysv (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
After opening ksysv I am unable to close it by any method other than
killall. Neither the x in the upper right corner, nor File-Quit, nor
alt-F4, nor icon-Close work. This occured with both KDE 3.5.1 and
3.5.2. I am running Kubuntu with the 2.6.15.1 kernel. I am willing to
try and troubleshoot if someone will direct.

[Bug 37246] Unable to browse web with Konqueror

2006-03-29 Thread glepore70
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37246

Affects: kdebase konqueror (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
When I attempt to load a web page into Konqueror (via the Location bar), most
pages load properly. However, certain pages (verizon.com) fail to load
properly with the below dialog box. In addition, anytime I click a link from
any web page, Konqueror pops up a dialog box:
Open 'http://groups.googhp?hl=entab=wgq='?
Type: HTML document
___ Do not ask again
Save As...Open with 'Firefox Web Browser' Cancel
Thus, I am unable to browse the web with Konqueror. I am willing to help
troubleshoot this error, but I need direction. The system is Kubuntu, Kde
3.5.2, kernel 2.6.15.1.

[Bug 37261] Korn privacy violation

2006-03-29 Thread glepore70
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37261

Affects: kdepim (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
With Korn set up to display email from two different accounts in the system
tray (my wife's and my own) using right click to view first my email and then
my wife's will produce the following privacy violation:
I right click Korn and select View, which loads up and views the subjects of my
emails, I then exit the preview
then
my wife does the same on her icon, she will see my subjects, etc while Korn
shows a dialog box Progress - rechecking box.
This is a clear privacy violation, my wife's preview should never, even for a
brief second, show my subjects. And since it can take many seconds for Korn to
fetch the new set of headers, my data remains viewable for quite a while.

[Bug 35422] Kubuntu - No Display section in Kcontrol - Peripherals

2006-03-24 Thread glepore70
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35422

Comment:
Update:
the Display section appeared when I installed kde-guidance. I do not know why
it was not present before installing kde-guidance. Possibly the bug could be
closed, but I don't know how it disappeared in the first place.

[Bug 34381] Dapper - Korn - Unable to delete email after right-click-view email

2006-03-11 Thread glepore70
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34381

Description changed to:
Since upgrading to Dapper I have been unable to delete email from
the server after right-clicking and selecting View emails. Korn
successfully displays the list of emails available; I select an
email, click delete, Korn goes through the motions of deleting the
email and re-checking the server, only to display the exact same
email that I had tried to delete. Korn version is 0.4 on KDE 3.5.1.
