I have the detecting platform message come up briefly whether I apply through that message or with the apply button. I think the problem is that when Show All is selected, that knetworkconf module still stays running (and does not go down as other modules). I cannot reproduce this with latest Dapper - I suspect this introduced with early kde 3.5.2 packages.
