[Bug 386886] Re: digikam crashes on startup and also randomly

2010-01-03 Thread Luka Renko
Digikam 1.0/final is now available for Karmic users in karmic-backports
repository. This particular bug should be fixed in that version.

** Changed in: digikam (Ubuntu)

Can you still reproduce this with digikam 1.0.0 RC from karmic-
backports?

[Bug 386886] Re: digikam crashes on startup and also randomly

2009-09-01 Thread Ari Takku
I upgraded to latest KDE. Also digikam was upgraded in some point being
now:

ii digikam 2:1.0.0~beta3-1ubuntu1~jaunty1~ppa1
ii digikam-dbg 2:1.0.0~beta3-1ubuntu1~jaunty1~ppa1

Soon I realized that still something is wrong. I don't know what.

Anyways, here is my current workaround:

1) Create a file to /etc/hal/fdi/information/, e.g
media_check_disable_canon.fdi

  false
  false
  true

This recognizes (or it should recognize) that if I plug my camera in, it
prevents the KDE from "locking" the camera. I'm not sure how this works,
feel free to correct me. :)

2) apt-get install gtkam jhead

3) Plug your camera in, download the files with gtkam

4) jhead -autorot /my/images/*

PS. Perhaps the jhead -autorot could be put to gtkam's "Open with
program" field, but I haven't verified this.

PPS. Occasionally I got the digikam up'n running, and I must say that it
has LOT of improvements (e.g. in it's usability). Keep up the good work!
