Linux, Windows, Mac? I guess you want them all. :) * It takes hours to upload binaries to a public ftp/www server So, It hink it will not happen anytime soon. On the other hand *you* can always try to build from the source (only your language), it requires a few gigabytes of space on hard drive and some time. Also, TDF releases translated builds quite often. Not nightly, but for 3.5.0 we released a beta, rc or a final version in every 1-2 weeks. Strings do not change - in theory - in the libreoffice-3-5 brach, and there will be many releases from that branch, so you can keep improving translations. KeyID builds were provided with 3.5 betas. I don't know, if they are still available somewhere. They will be provided again for 3.6 betas in a few months. Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Testing current pootle translation
Of course the best option would be if LO switched to pure gettext so that we could simply put updated MO files to the language folder and immediately see the changes. But converting the whole thing to gettext would probably be a pretty big (and tedious and uninteresting) undertaking. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to l10n+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/l10n/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-l10n] [ANNOUNCE] Branch libreoffice-3-5-1 created
Hi all, there have been created the libreoffice-3-5-1 branch. It will be used for fine tuning of the 3.5.1 release. It was created before the tag for 3.5.1-rc1 to avoid race condition in the automatically generated bugzilla comments. It was created already on Wednesday evening. I did not announce it because the 3 reviews were not needed before the tag for rc1. I just cherry picked all fixes from 3-5 branch. The cherry picking should not be needed in a normal case. I plan to create the branch and tag at the same time (within one hour). This time I was too fast with creating the branch and did not wait for one build fix that was more complicated than expected. I am sorry for potential confusion. The following rules apply: + preferably just translation or blocker fixes + only cherry-picking from libreoffice-3-5 branch + 2 additional reviews needed; 2nd reviewer pushes + no regular merges back to anything The 'libreoffice-3-5' branch is still active and will be used for the 3.5.2 bugfix release. Please read more at http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Branches Now, if you want to switch your clone to the branch, please do: ./g pull -r ./g checkout -b libreoffice-3-5-0 origin/libreoffice-3-5-1 Hopefully it will work for you :-) Most probably, you will also want to do (if you haven't done it yet): git config --global push.default tracking When you do git push with this, git will push only the branch you are on; e.g. libreoffice-3-5-1 when you have switched to it. This will save you some git shouting at you. Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Testing current pootle translation
Pre-release along with language packs are good way to see the translation result. However, it is kind of late to see the translation error in that build. Problems are often caught after final release because of the time to see if translations are well being short. By the way, Key-ID language build will be awesome to help translators find out which string is what we see. It will save considerable time for us. I hope it can be downloaded more easily for translators. Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Testing current pootle translation
Hi andras, Would it be possible to implement an easier procedure to test new translations? Maybe integrating them into nightly builds or similar? It is very hard to know exactly where in the program a specific phrase will be shown, and what other phrases will be along it to create a good total result. On a side note: Why are we using an email list instead of a forums for this? Email lists are great for small communities that need to gain attention from its members, now this list is just becoming flooded since we have so many contributors. A forum would be easier to keep clean and reuse information that is already available. A mailing list keeps users that are not used to it away from the project too (it sure took me a while to join my first list, when i on the other hand didnt hesitate one second when joining a forum) Best regards Jon > Hello Jon, 2012/2/24 Jon Lachmann : > Hello! > > How can i > download and test the latest > translation from the pootle server in > libreoffice? > You need to build LibreOffice from the source code. [libreoffice-l10n] Presenter screen vs Presenter console
Hi there, I was wondering. Isn´t Presenter Screen the same extension as Presenter Console? If so, why strings in poottle/source code don´t get updated? This could lead to discrepancies in translations. -- Sérgio Marques -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to l10n+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/l10n/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
