Re: [libreoffice-l10n] translating pages of others and not of one's own language is an incorrect practice
Hi Manuel, nice to hear from you for the first time. I don't understand why Adolfo Jayme Barrientos allows himself to > translate the pages already translated into Italian by revising them. > Wiki pages have no owners and anybody can edit them without asking first; this is how any wiki site works. Please read https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Non_aver_paura_di_fare_modifiche I thought that I was doing a service by updating the translations after I had changed the corresponding English page, but I have never claimed to be the one for “revising” your work, so I am baffled as to how this conclusion was reached. > I repeat because revising the pages in Italian has already been taken > up in the past for this invasive attitude. > What? I have no recollection of me having any prior interaction with you, either in these terms or otherwise. In fact, the last time someone from the Italian team collaborated with me (I think it was Valter Mura, ciao!!), he was very nice to me; he helped me with some typos and missing strings on the Spanish translation, and I was very grateful to have his keen eyes. It was a positive experience. > I think there is already enough to translate and proofread in its > native language, without breaking eggs in someone else's basket. > You’re not wrong, I get to translate to four languages (add Aragonese to my basket), but to call my little edit from a long time ago “breaking eggs in your basket” just because I had a little typo (*da la → dalla), well, it speaks more about your attitudes than mine. > Best Regards > -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: l10n+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: https://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/l10n/ Privacy Policy: https://www.documentfoundation.org/privacy
