Perhaps I misunderstand, but Weblate DOES show that comment in the String Information box. But what I said is nothing new. This has always been true. I'm just trying to make it very clear - especially since a change has been made. Is there anything that I should be doing differently? I have no problems reverting my change(s) if I am doing something wrong, or if there needs to be better coordination. [libreoffice-l10n] RID_SVXSTR_OUTLINENUM_DESCRIPTION change
Hi, In https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/150805 for 7.6 I re-arranged/changed the first 6 RID_SVXSTR_OUTLINENUM_DESCRIPTIONs. It is important to note that this text should only be translated for locales that get their LC_OutLineNumberingLevel from en_US. The source string description (for RID_SVXSTR_OUTLINENUM_DESCRIPTION_0) says: “do not translate this; instead describe the nth numbering style (LC_NumberingLevel) defined by your locale” Suggested translation order: -cut _3 and paste into _2 -cut _0 and paste into _3 -cut _4 and paste into _0 and fix description -cut _5 and paste into _4 -cut _1 and paste into _5 and re-define -re-define _1 Hope that helps, Justin -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: l10n+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: https://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/l10n/ Privacy Policy: https://www.documentfoundation.org/privacy

[libreoffice-l10n] Outline numbering improvements made to en_US only
Hi. In January I worked on tdf bug 56258 related to improving numbering outline list formats for LO 7.6. I have added the ability to specify whether numbering should be left or right (or center) aligned. Roman numerals tends to look much better when they are right aligned. The built-in numbering styles already did that, and I extended it so that it can also work for these LC_OutlineNumberingLevel definitions. See https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/144978 where this was done for en_US.xml. I only changed en_US, but of course many other locales are also using roman numerals. The following locales define their own Outline Numbering Levels and use NumType="2" and NumType="3": ar_EG.xml: Egypt bg_BG.xml: Bulgaria bo_CN.xml: Tibetan bo_IN.xml: Tibetan bs_BA.xml: Bosnian dz_BT.xml: Bhutan fa_IR.xml: Persian hr_HR.xml: Croatia ja_JP.xml: Japan km_KH.xml: Khmer ko_KR.xml: Korean lo_LA.xml: Laos lv_LV.xml: Latvia ne_NP.xml: Nepali sk_SK.xml: Slovak sr_RS.xml: Serbia uk_UA.xml: Ukrainian zh_CN.xml: Simplified Chinese zh_TW.xml: Traditional Chinese Please contact me if you have questions or want any help in adjusting the locale that you are authorized to redefine. Right, but – at least at first glance – their license looks permisive enough [1]. One should check this on the specific font of interest, though. SIL's Gentium font is already distributed with LibreOffice. If the preference is a non-serif font, then SIL's Andika font might be appropriate. They like to use that one for primary education readers, so I expect it has very good coverage. [libreoffice-l10n] Outline numbering improvements to en_US will apply to most locales
Hi. I have been working on tdf bug 56258 related to improving numbering outline list formats. First of all, I wanted to inform that I made all of the locales that had identical LC_NumberingLevel definitions to instead just refer to ref="en_US", meaning that any improvements to the US numbering will automatically apply to these locales as well. At this point, no changes have been made to this simple list. https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/144890 Secondly, I have added the ability to specify whether numbering should be left or right (or center) aligned. Roman numerals and old Hungarian tends to look much better when they are right aligned. The built-in numbering styles already did that, and I extended it so that it can also work for these LC_OutlineNumberingLevel definitions. See https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/144978 where this was done for en_US.xml. I only changed en_US, but of course many other locales are also using NumType="3" and NumType="4". If your locale is not referencing en_US, you probably want to make the same changes if any of your levels use upper or lower roman-numbering. Thirdly, for en_US I also tweaked three of the outline levels. (You can find these lists in the Format menu, under “Bullets and Numbering – Outline tab”.) Specifically, I made these changes: I.A.i.a) → I.A.1.a.i. 1.a) → 1) a) 1) A) 1. (a) i. A. → A.1.a.1.
