Hello all!
Calc guide 4.1, Figure 163: Setting up a formula with arguments
Am I wrong... or the formula is wrong? :)
You could as well consider the image correct... but the formula should 
be with a "+" , not a "-".

In LibO 5.1.0.3 both formats ( ";" & ",") work.
I don't have earlier versions of LibO installed, so I can't check to see
when both forms became acceptable.

  I _think_ that this is one of those features that belongs in the user
documentation, but hasn't yet found its way there.

I was trying to use the "," (as in the original image) while localizing 
images for the calc guide, but it seems to me only the ";" works in calc 
3.4-3.5.

[libreoffice-l10n] Request to save in odfauthors website files used for examples in guides

Hello all,
May I ask all people working in the documentation group to save, for 
later use, example files created while writing libo guides?
In this way localizators won't have to completely recreate them when 
localizing images.
I think the best place to save files is the odfauthors website (where 
there is already 1 file saved - for the calc guide).

Hello all,
While localizing images for the italian calc guide I have found a 
possible mistake in the Calc guide.
Version 4.1 (version 3.4 shows the same error), page 212, figure 161: 
Structure page of Function Wizard.
I think the power functions, as shown in the formula, are wrong, as they 
should be used with a ; and not with a , .

That's a good workaround, I tried that, but, at least in my case, that 
deletes the cross reference too... (also figure numbers loose the 
reference, though they remain inside the tags)... I'd like to avoid that 
if possible...


I'm going to try last libo release, to see if developers solved this bug.

I tried but that doesn't work all the same; the problem is created when 
the document is re-formatted, before exporting (or printing); infact, 
having a look at the odt file after export, it's changed too (the word 
figure has disappeared).

I had the same problem in translating the LO Getting Strated guide using
OmegaT to Slovak. I solved it 'manually'. In OmegaT a string with Figure
reference being translated looks like this:

Instead of keeping translation 'obrázku' of 'Figure' inside the t1 tags,
I moved it outside. This worked well. It is possible that LO should be
able translate Figure inside the tags automatically (because of change
of language settings), but aparently this does not work (a bug?). I did
no go deeper into it, since automatic translation would not be useful
for me anyway, since the translation shoud be declinated according to
its context.

They are not very confident about wiki-editing yet and might not get 
around to doing the proof-reading for ages but it might help them 
understand some of the tools you are familiar with and that might help

have seen that when they make a mistake it's seldom fatal! ;)


There are a couple of native English speakers.  Anne-ology kindly 
volunteered to join this list to help with all the questions about the 
small strings that kept appearing on-list a few months ago but just 
after she joined such questions stopped appearing on-list.


I had a really speedy skim-read but i tend to find that after Sophie 
has proof-read something it rarely needs any changes so i might have 
skimmed through too fast this time.
