Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Adding translation to master and 7
Master will become 7, when 7 will be out master will be used for the upcoming version and 7 will be used for the minor versions of 7 (localization updates). If you use Weblate's webpage-based editor to do the translating work, your change in "UI - master" project will be automatically copied to "UI -7.0" project, and similarly for "Help - master" and "Help - 7.0" as well, assuming both strings are untranslated or translated the same way (so changes to existing translations are copied, too). So there is no need to worry or make a conscious choice. Of course, as time goes on, the content of 7.0 and master will start to differ, and some strings may only exist in master, or the same spot in the UI will have different strngs for master and 7.0. In these cases you probably want to focus on 7.0 first, as that's the version ordinary users are likely to use and see. But if you use some other tool to do the translation work, you need to take extra steps to ensure master and 7.0 are properly synchronized, to avoid duplicated work in the future. Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Adding translation to master and 7
Hey Ming Thank you for answer My concern clearly is I have two branches 7 and master, Now master is 42% and 7 is 41%, why they are different? I use po-editor most time for translation, I want all my translation goes to official 7 until release. Now if I add translation to master they will not be added to 7 ? And I can't see them in LO 7 when released? Best Regards. But unfortunately, as we are working "online", the suggestions were not copied/moved to 7.0, so we have to re-check all strings with suggestions "by hand". I didn't find a request about it in Weblate issues. This is the same for checks that were dismissed in master, they are not copied to 7.0 and yes, it's problematic for both. I'll check with Christian if there is a setting somewhere, but not sure. This has been answered in telegram channel the other day (and a while back on this list), see https://www.mail-archive.com/l10n@global.libreoffice.org/msg12646.html for details (tldr: propagation of translations when uploading files was disabled upstream, mail linked above contains one way to merge the files locally for those translating offline) ciao Christian -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: l10n+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: https://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/l10n/ Privacy Policy: https://www.documentfoundation.org/privacy

Hi Sophie the only workaround I found is to "work" the suggestions in Master, in order to spread them to 7.0, but IMHO this should not be the correct procedure. Ciao -- Valter Open Source is better!
