[lace] Urgent help needed to identify object
Sorry to post to both boards, but sister Jacquie has asked me to post the following pictures for some urgent help in identifying this object. She urgently needs to find out what this is before the end of the weekend. http://good-times.webshots.com/album/568383048jvtGIk Here is the text of her message to me - she is away this weekend Just arrived at Dover and been shown this thing by Pat Read. What is it, she wants to know, and was sure I would know. Well, I haven't a clue but do know the way we might fond out. . It is NOT a bobbin display thingy (no slots for the necks). On the top ring there are small holes on top, at the sides and grooves on the back (see photos). The top comes off but I don't think it should. The base has holes on the top only. Size is about the same as a bobbin display. Thanks for all your help. I bet someone knows what it is. Re: [lace] Urgent help needed to identify object
Hello Malvary, it looks like the thing for working with hairs. In German it's Jatte or something like this word, sorry. But the thing on your pictures look as if it is not as high as what I think. [lace] Spider Raffle
Dear Spiders, I have done a high tech drawing for the raffle. I first made a list of all of the 39 people who entered the raffle, in the order that I received their emails. Then I went to Random.org and selected the list randomizer. I entered numbers 1 through 39, and then had the list randomized. The first three numbers on the list were the winners. The winners of the spider ornaments are: Noelene Lafferty Tamara Duvall and Merie Lettieri I have Tamara's and Merie's addresses. Noelene, if you'll send me your mailing address, I'll get these little arachnids out in the mail on Monday!! It was fun to have so many emails this past week! I should do this more often!! [lace] Retournac
I am not sure what the rules are about mentioning a commercial venture on Arachne, but i have just received an email from the museum at Retournac asking me to post their latest information to those on Arachne who might be interested to know that they are now publishing in english. The URL for the newsletter in English is: http://www.ville- retournac.fr/musee/anglais/actualites/2008/news5/newsletter.html I visited the museum some years ago when they were just getting started, and even then it was a remarkable place, well worth the effort of getting there and staying for a bit to see all they have to offer. I know others have been there as well and enjoyed it as much as I did, so I hope it is all right to post this message. Obviously, I have no interest in this other than that of any lacemaker: it is nice to see a museum able to succeed as well as they seem to be doing. I was surprised to receive photos of my French grandchildren playing in the recent snowfall that they had there. I certainly thought we would get snow before they did! - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
